The Other Side

The Other Side

I felt like the walls were closing in.
How the hell did all this begin?
I have to break through to the other side.
Then, I have to find a place to hide.
It is dark. I have to break through to light.
I will try with all my might.

You can run and you can hide.
It won’t help because you know he lied.
But, you will know at least you tried.
You have to break through to the other side.

It happened on that horrible day.
That day that I tried to run away.
He had me, there was no escape.
What he did was worse than rape.
Must break away to the other side.
It’s the only way to save my hide.

You can run and you can hide.
It won’t help because you know he lied.
But, you will know at least you tried.
You have to break through to the other side.

They say I had a psychotic break.
They say it was more than I can take.
You needed a way to get away.
Your mind escaped the easy way.
A mind excursion, what a ride.
I finally broke through to the other side.

Best Laid Plans

Best Laid Plans

A scientist made a fantastic discovery.
A queen wasp trapped in some amber.
Eons old,—– quite a recovery.
He would have revenge on all slander.
Think Jurassic Park, but with a wasp.
He would clone a living queen.
He would achieve it at all cost.
In the end, they will think him mean.
He was successful in his work.
The queen then produced a hive.
Their sting had a venomous quirk.
Their strongest venom did thrive.
They communicated, like a hive brain.
Each had their separate jobs.
They mastered this to obtain
the right to rule at all odds.
A more vicious foe has never been seen.
They would soon replace man.
They would be superior, it seems.
They would rule. That was the plan.
Their creator had been an outcast for years.
This was his time for revenge.
Only thing, he forgot something, it appears.
He didn’t get the proper permits. The end.
The government shut him down.
He had nowhere to turn to.
His plans disappeared. No where around.
Another mad scientist, reduced to a fool.

The Facts Of Life

The Facts Of life

You woke me up early when you said goodbye.
You said you loved me, but I didn’t know why.
I was still drowsy and went back to sleep.
Now I am awake and in utter defeat.
The note you left me on the kitchen table
said you were sorry, but you were no longer able.
Able to pretend everything was all right.
You had not said why to prevent a fight.
You had met another. You know how it goes.
One thing led to another. My heart was exposed.
Before long, I knew it could only be him.
I long for another so why should I pretend.
My heart was awake now and in a real hurt.
It was broken and stomped into the dirt.
I paced around with nothing else to do.
I watched some TV, but kept thinking of you.
I counted flowers on the wall.
It did nothing for me at all.
I played catch with the dog.
I drove in circles in the fog.
I had no idea where you were.
To check at your work didn’t occur.
Days later, the idea came.
You had quit your job, no reason to claim.
FBI relocation would be easier to trace.
You had totally vanished from this place.
Therapy, antidepressants and a lot of time.
I am finally able to say the fault wasn’t mine.
It is something no one wants to go through.
I hope this never happens to you.

A Day Like No Other

A Day Like No Other

Tell me what you did today?
I went to another dimension to play.
What kind of crazy talk is that?
It’s not crazy,—- it is a fact.
But, how can this even be?
It is easy. Want to see?
The Shadow People opened the door.
Showed me what I was looking for.
Once there things were unreal.
A waking dream is how it feels.
Weird shapes and colors.
Things moving that are like no other.
Gravity is less. I could jump real high.
Jump way up into a purple sky.
Things would talk, but it made no sense.
Like someone gargling through a picket fence.
I would do flips and scary dives.
Float on the green water and stay alive.
I almost lost my way back to here.
Then I heard you loud and clear.
You were calling, asking if I was home.
Then, I was back. No longer alone.
That sounds scary as hell to me.
I think I’ll stay here and remain free.
Suit yourself, but you are missing out.
This other dimension will make you shout.
You’ll have a blast in all you do.
What if you can’t find your way back through?
Come looking if I’m not here tomorrow.
The Shadow People will show no sorrow.
But, they will show you to the door.
Just don’t ask them anything more.
See you tomorrow at twelve noon.
I can’t wait to see the double moon.

The Problem Is CRS

The Problem Is CRS

I saw my friend the other night.
I must say he looked quite the sight.
“What is the matter with you?”
He said “I have CRS. Oh yeah, it’s true!”
“CRS? What did the Dr say?”
“He said I have CRS, earlier today.”
“Well, that’s not so bad” I said.
He said “Are you out of your head?”
“It’s CRS man, my days are numbered.”
“I guess that could be a real bummer.”
“But, it shouldn’t kill you. Not right away.”
“So, everyday I live in fear and pray?”
“You won’t remember by tomorrow.”
“Can’t you even show some sorrow?”
“Come on. I forget stuff every day.”
“It’s just a ‘senior moment’ is all I say.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“CRS. Can’t remember shit!!” I shout.
“What? That is not what CRS is.”
“Cancer Recurring Symptoms it is.”
“What? Is that what the Dr said?”
“He said I had CRS. It was in my head.”
“When I asked him what to do?”
He said ‘write it down. That’s best for you’”
“I thought he meant to make out a will.”
“My days are numbered. I’m feeling ill.”
I said “Not to worry my friend.”
“I am pretty sure this is not the end.”
“He meant you can’t remember shit.”
“So, write it down to remember it.”
“Well, shit. That is a bummer.”
“I’d rip his ass, but I forgot his number.

Ghost Tales Anyone??

Ghost Tales Anyone??

It was dusk and growing black.
No moon, no stars, nothing like that.
Something creeping around out there.
Everyone had better beware.
It’s not a thriller, chiller or killer.
It is just the local miller.
His face is white from flour dust.
His clothes are dark, with scent of musk.
His voice is loud, almost a whale.
Like someone hung with a rusty nail.
People are scared. Rumors running wild.
Don’t go out. Keep an eye on your child.
He actually wouldn’t harm a fly.
But, people are scared, fear is high.
People said he was the deadly reaper.
Others thought it was a killing creeper.
Listen! What’s that outside the door?
It’s someone knocking, yelled a whore.
Get back!! Then they heard this sound.
“Let me in. Flour is getting on the ground.”
What do you think that means?
That’s no ghost or what it seems.
It’s Joe, the local miller.
He wouldn’t hurt a caterpillar
I wasn’t scared. I knew it was him.
Why are your pants all wet then?

September 1963 What A Night

September 1963 What A Night

It was late in June 1964.
Bad news came to my door.
9 months after September 1963
Oh, what a night for you and me.
Something happened, unplanned for.
An income tax deduction, and more.
It all came to a head in 1964.
This has hurt me to the very core.
Just one night in September 1963.
I haven’t seen you since, you see.
That is until the paternity suit.
Too deny it would be moot.
DNA tests say he is mine.
What a way to spend my dime.
Fatherhood is something new.
Does this mean I should marry you?
Oh, what a lady, what a night.
It has led to this nightmare fight.
Shared custody seems the way to go.
I guess we should have taken it slow.
Have you given him a name?
Tell me. Quit driving me insane.
This has been a lesson to me.
Don’t fool around if you want to be free.
I hope others learn this lesson.
The end results isn’t worth the messing.

Battle On The Play Ground

Battle On The Play Ground

There is little time to mess around.
There is a fight on the play ground.
Nobody knows what they are fighting about.
It started when Joe hit her in the snout.
Break it up. Send them to the principle.
Now, now, let us all be sensible.
What do you mean by that?
Two teachers are fighting. It’s more than a scrap.
I doubt the principle can do much here.
He won’t paddle them, I fear.
Maybe he’ll take them out to lunch.
I’m sure they would like that a bunch.
Besides, I hear he often tips a beer.
That won’t help. That much is clear.
It is a bad example to the kids.
The balls she kneed was his.
He was rolling on the ground in pain.
But, he still managed to hit her with his cane.
Its gotten bloody, and they haven’t stopped.
She bit him with all she’s got.
It was with 2 teeth, maybe three.
He knocked one out trying to get free.
Man, he really split her lip.
She has blood smeared on her hip.
She yelled she hope he rots.
That’s it, I’m calling the cops.
Too late now. I think he had a stroke.
Or a heart attack. He does smoke.
What is this world coming to?
Obviously, not what it’s supposed to do.

Computer Joke Of The Wrong Kind

Computer Joke Of The Wrong Kind

Little Billy Keefer had a problem.
He didn’t know how to solve them.
After all,—– he is only nine.
Someone hacked his computer time.
He only plays simple computer games.
Makes things explode and go up in flames.
Fun games, like all kids play.
He would like to blow the hacker up some day.
Often, he can’t get in to play.
It says if you want in, pay money today.
He never had to pay before.
He was mad. This means war.
He will talk to his BIG brother.
Get some help with this bugger.
His brother set up a virus to wipe out the hacker.
First he used a thing called a tracker.
Before long, daddy was cussing.
He got a virus and it had him fussing.
Little Billy said “I know how you feel.”
“I had a hacker, but I made him squeal.”
“What!!” daddy yelled. “That was me.”
“I was just playing a joke, you see.”
“Your virus wiped out my computer!!”
“What am I going to do now dear?”
His wife had no sympathy for him.
She felt he got what was coming to him.
What comes around goes around they say.
Better save such jokes for another day.

That’s How They Say It Goes

That’s How They Say It Goes

Yesterday a funny thing happened.
I was walking along a street in town.
I guy yelled “I’d feel like crap then.”
I looked his way with a frown.
He was talking to his girlfriend.
Seems he didn’t like what she said.
“Too bad!!” Her voice sounded shrill then.
I am assuming that they were not wed.
He immediately began to apologize.
For what?, I couldn’t tell for sure.
They quieted, keeping it localized.
Isn’t that how they say it goes with her.
You’re the bad guy right from the go.
Whatever it was about, he took the blame.
Maybe he deserved it, I just don’t know.
But, mostly, it is a crying shame.
The guy MUST give in, or it’s over.
There is no yes, no , or maybe.
It is cut and dried as day old clover.
He has cowed down. He’s yours now baby.
Feelings must be taken into consideration.
Circumstances must also play a part.
But, somewhere, there must be the realization
that she can occasionally be wrong from the start.
The old adage; women are never wrong.
Is often over-stated and not true.
Men foul up. It usually doesn’t take long.
But, women do too, but won’t admit it to you.
In a perfect world, all would take their blame.
Hopefully, the results would be more rewarding.
At least, the results wouldn’t be the same.
But, that’s in a perfect world.
