Something Went Amiss

     Something Went Amiss

What the hell in going down?

Middle class is in the ground.

They have buried us for good.

Goodbye to our neighborhood.

Smash and slash is the way.

We see it happening every day.

Smash taxes then slash your pay.

Lower class has nothing to say.

Middle class is  extinct at last.

Can’t buy paper to wipe your ass.

It is the very rich and lower class.

Basically the rich and the trash.

Is this “Make America Great?”

They take everything you make.

There needs to be real change.

Someone new to take the reins.

Or,—- has it all gone too far?

No way to reverse this car.

Rapidly racing to destruction.

No way to bring a disruption.

Bend down and kiss it goodbye.

Not worth giving it a try.

The big “S” is coming on strong.

Socialism is definitely wrong.

Yet, it seems, full steam ahead

is the only thought in people’s heads.

We should learn from our mistakes.

But, we don’t have what it takes.

Roll over in your graves Republic Founders.

Your beautiful dream now flounders.

A Cashless Society

             A Cashless Society

The value of the dollar is going down.

You can see where we are bound.

Can you see any reasonable way out?

This is what it is all about.

The latest answer is pretty weird.

It is the direction we are being stirred.

The Federal Reserve will issue bit coins.

“Fed coins”, or something, will be coined.

They will rapidly replace paper money.

People, at first, will like it plenty.

Till they see how their privacy is destroyed.

This is something that can’t be ignored.

We have all heard it before in the Bible.

If you don’t comply, you’ll be more than liable.

Can’t buy or sell without  a mark & # of his name.

A bit coin, or ‘Fed Coin’ is a start. Make it plain.

It’s a small step from there to a ‘chip.’

Embedded under your skin to be quick.

It will contain all there is to know about you.

Your privacy is gone, whatever you do.

All purchases or sales done through the ‘chip.’

You can easily be barred from any of it.

Say your religious belief didn’t agree

with whatever was allowed by the powers that be.

You would be barred from buying or selling.

I am sure of this without even yelling.

Best to hide out and avoid the ‘chip.’

If you are caught, you will be in for it.

It is much closer than you think.

We are standing right on the brink.

Get your affairs in order.

We are right on the border.

Make sure your life is right with God.

The end times are here. This isn’t odd.

Don’t be caught unprepared.

Remember, He has always cared.

That is why He warned us of the end.

It’s in the Bible. Why pretend?

There is only one way out.

That’s what the 2ond coming of Jesus is about.

The Portrait

                     The Portrait

The portrait hung in my house for years.

I never had cause to give it any fear.

It was of a beautiful woman with red hair.

I don’t know who she was or how it got there.

It was hanging there when I bought the house.

I left it there because I liked her blouse.

All was fine till my girlfriend moved in.

Strange things have happened since then.

The portrait started to change, it seemed.

She looked angry instead of serene.

My girlfriend tripped on the stairs.

Someone pushed her, she swears.

She has heard a whisper there.

It would tell her to beware.

She would get a cold chill up her spine.

When she looked at the portrait , every time.

Other bizarre incidents occurred.

Always with the single word. “Beware!!”

She was convinced the portrait did it.

She thinks it is of a witch.

I tried to trace the history of the picture.
I kept running into one hitch here.

The previous owner had burned the painting.

I heard this and felt like fainting.

He said it was there when he bought the house.

Incidents happened, so he took it out.

He burned it and things quieted down.

The house felt creepy, so he moved out of town.

Built in the 1600’s, the house is old.

Rumors say a witch lived there, I was told.

They say her portrait hung in the den.

This was a bad fix I was in.

I could burn it, but, I might have to move.

Was it jealous of my girlfriend? How crude.

I threatened to drown it in holy water.

All the weirdness stopped without a bother.

We are still there, but always weary.

Twice we saw the portrait teary.

More Than A Friend

          More Than A Friend

When you came to me in the light,

I knew I wouldn’t be afraid in the night.

I knew I wanted you to stay.

There is not much more I can say.

The world is dark and you are light.

Things that happen make me uptight.

They scare me and it won’t go away.

Maybe things will be different someday.

You calm me down and that is well.

You have a way to quiet the quell.

Darkness moves over the land.

You come close and hold my hand.

The angel of death makes its flight.

I ask you to hold me tight.

Hell breaks loose and all is moved.

Stand by me,—– I behoove.

Finally, light breaks upon the land.

I will smile,—– if I can.

You have brought me through.

I am truly indebted to you.

This world is full of sin.

There is no way I can win.

Just cling to you until the end.

You are so much more than a friend.

The Final Decision

         The Final Decision

If I go into the silence with you,

what will happen to all we knew?

You were my favorite song.

Not to hear it would be all wrong.

Is there anything there to see?

Is it the right place for you and me?

If we go, there’s no coming back.

I am not sure that’s where it is at?

True, others have done the same.

No one knows of what became?

I have considered long and hard.

We could be playing the wrong card.

Have you considered other options?

None that you say would top them?

Things are not the best they could be.

I guess it is a way to be free.

From frying pan into the fire.

Talk about coming down to the wire.

It does take a lot of faith.

Possibly faith misplaced.

A one way trip with no way back.

I am not sure I am ready for that.

You say you can’t go without me.

Time to find other ways to be free.

Coming Home

         Coming Home

I have been on the road.

Looking for some answers.

Mostly in automatic mode.

The doubts are like a cancer.

You say you want me.

But, you never came to get me.

So, I began to doubt you.

There is something about you.

That makes me want to say.

Maybe tomorrow will be the day.

I think time will change it all.

So, new places for me to see.

It beats waiting for your call.

Wondering if you’ll set me free.

I never see or hear from you.

I have set my hopes too high.

Maybe I should see this through.

Come home, even if it’s to cry.

You say you want me.

But, you never came to get me.

So, I began to doubt you.

There is something about you.

That makes me want to say.

Maybe tomorrow will be the day.

I have caught the last flight home.

I hope this is the right thing to do.

Hopefully, I will never have to roam.

If you tell me what I want you to.

Trouble On The Muni

       Trouble On The Muni

I took a ride on a Muni bus.

Everyone was in a rush.

A man started throwing a fit.

Started cussing and wouldn’t quit.

He pulled an old lady out of her seat.

Then sat down before anyone could speak.

The old lady hit him with her cane.

He called her a whore by name.

He got up and punched her lights out.

She hit the floor without a shout.

People grabbed him without a word.

As the driver pulled to the curb.

They threw him off the bus.

He started to rant and cuss.

The driver pulled back into the street.

As the guy was climbing to his feet.

Later, I read in a local paper.

The guy thrown off turned into a hater.

He tried to sue the old lady & the bus line.

Said they hurt him & he wasn’t fine.

Someone recorded it all with their phone.

The jury watched it as he let out a groan.

He is in the slammer now for assault.

I hope he knows how the old lady felt.

But, most likely, he didn’t learn a thing.

Who knows what trouble these idiots will bring.

A Trip Within

         A Trip To Within

Why did I wait until the end?

To try and travel within.

Within the mind of another.

Not talking about my brother.

Into the mind of one disturbed.

I know, you think it is weird.

This ability is only mine.

I have known about it for some time.

I decided to try this trip.

I work with patients that will fit.

I got one to sit and relax.

Said I was looking for facts.

Didn’t tell it all to him.

Just to relax. Rest from within.

Slowly, I eased my way in.

I didn’t want to disturb him.

I had explored this way with others.

Other people, like my brother.

They all were considered sane.

The trip didn’t cause them pain.

When I reached the area of thought.

I was wondering what I sought?

Everything was jumbled here.

It was hard to see things clear.

Was that him riding a white horse?

Dressed up like a knight, of course.

He pointed his lance at me.

Then, started charging, you see.

Just before he ran me through.

The scene changed to something new.

He was small and quite ashamed.

It was causing him a lot of pain.

He had done something he knew was wrong.

He feared his parents, who came on strong.

He always felt small, and unworthy.

He had a fear of getting dirty.

His parents would whip his ass good.

He couldn’t please them, but, he knew he should.

His thinking became warped and delusional.

He withdrew into a world unusual.

He was the authority here.

He generated nothing, but fear.

His word was law to all around.

Else, he would smash them into the ground.

This had little to do with reality.

It was his way to compensate, you see.

They say he is a schizophrenic.

Not someone you would like to mimic.

I withdrew, understanding much more now.

Now, if I could only reach him somehow.

There may be hope for him to see the light.

To no longer fear that it may not be right.

It will take time, but I have a direction.

I must show him that I respect him.

Decisions for him are hard to make.

I want it to become a piece of cake.

Time will tell if this all paid off.

I am not one who will scoff.

Christmas Is Here

              Christmas Is Here

It is warm and cozy within the bed.

The house is colder than an outhouse shed.

There is no form of heat in here.

Just the oven or electric heater, I fear.

Central heat and air has been out for years.

Almost too cold for Christmas cheer.

But, the spiked egg nog warms the gut.

Soon, you feel like you’re out of the rut.

Your cheeks are rosy, you’re feeling good.

You’re starting to feel like you should.

You start wrapping presents and things.

It is not as bad as it seems.

You send out a batch of Christmas cards.

Put some decorations up in the yard.

Christmas spirit is warming things up.

You play Christmas music and other stuff.

Before long, you’re ready for the day.

Everyone gets together and all say:

“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

You all take a drink of Christmas cheer.

You exchange presents and open them.

Praise the tree with all its trim.

Later, you have a Christmas dinner.

Yummy enough to last you all winter.

There is enough love all around

for each of you to not wear a frown.

In our hearts we each remember.

The birth of our savior on this December.

We are happy for each and all the family ties.

Then we are yelling, “Bring on the pies.”

A Christian Life

               A Christian Life

Wherever you go and whatever you do.

Others are always watching you.

All you do and all you say

makes up all you are today.

Improve your lot and do your best.

Leave an impression that will pass the test.

Never be naughty, always be nice.

Make it a habit so you don’t think twice.

You’ll be respected in your neighborhood.

Because you always act like you should.

When you take your girlfriend out,

There is nothing to worry about.

Her parents know you are responsible.

To not trust you would be unconscionable.

You will make a good impression.

Be it job, romance, or a study session.

More people like you is what we need.

But, don’t go around spreading your seed.

Just spread your honorable ways.

Others will admire you in every way.

Hopefully, they will strive to do the same.

Your shining example won’t be in vain.
