Wolf Sees More In A Man

Wolf Sees More In A Man

He was a kindly, little, old, nature loving man.

He was out in the woods looking for mushrooms. .

He was down on his knees checking out the land.

Wolves caught his sent and found him real soon.

They surrounded him before he was aware.

The pack leader slowly approached the man.

He saw the wolf and could only stare.

The pack leader sniffed, then backed away, turned & ran.

He gave a howl and the other wolves followed.

The man couldn’t believe what just happened.

Thank God, the wolves didn’t want his raw bones.

He gathered the mushrooms in his lap then.

Then, he walked back to where his car remained.

About 2 months later he was back in the woods.

He heard a wolf crying, like it was in pain.

He found a pup, who would run away, if he could.

He couldn’t. His leg was in a trap & was broken.

The man freed the pup and carried him away.

In his car he had a brace. It was a real token.

Just the right size to fix the whelp’s leg today.

He fixed up the pup & returned him to the place.

He thought the pup could get home from there.

He made sure the trap wasn’t set, just in case.

He didn’t realize the wolves were all aware.

They watched everything he had done.

They saw that he had helped the little whelp.

They remembered that he was the one.

The one the pack leader decided to help.

A week later, he was back in the woods.

The wolves surrounded him like before.

He raised his hands up, knowing he should.

The pack leader  approached once more.

He sniffed, then licked the man’s hand.

Then gave a small growl like a meow.

Then, he turned and left the man.

He gave a small yip, then a growl.

All the wolves followed the leader.

He was left scratching his head.

It seemed he had nothing to fear.

It seemed to him that God had led.

It was the pack leader’s pup he helped.

The pack leader sensed this from the first.

He knew this man was not a whelp.

Sure enough, his senses were not a curse.

God gives all animals what they use.

God knew the man would help the pup.

His wisdom gave the wolf all the cues.

This was a man to save, not rip up.

It’s So Devine

      It’s So Divine

It’s getting late. It’s time to go.

It is like you already know.

You snuggle close. The message is clear.

You’re so happy when I am here.

Still, I must leave. I don’t want to deceive.

I know you really don’t want me to leave.

It is nice to know that you are really mine.

The feeling is so very divine.

Time goes by & we are together again.

Yet, it goes by so fast, how can I win.

You do everything to make it just right.

When it’s time to go I don’t want a fight.

We both know that I have to leave.

We don’t want to but, we must deceive.

I know I have to bide my time.

Yet, when I’m with you it’s so divine.

Then, one day,  you say he is gone.

I am praying that you’re not wrong.

You say it is true. Now you are mine.

I won’t have to leave this time.

So, I stayed, and I’m still here.

There is nothing more for me to fear.

The way is clear, I will never leave.

I will never again need to deceive.

All our dreams are coming true.

You have me and I have you.

Now, I am with you all the time.

Every day is so divine.

Poetry In The Country

      Poetry In The Country

Country roads took me there.

A place to live without a care.

Not that many people around.

It was near a very small town.

I would kick back & do my thing.

Making the keyboard  keys ring.

Typing poems was my hobby.

I worked at not being to shoddy.

I wrote poems about many things.

Life and love and angels with wings.

Whatever would come to mind.

Put it on my web site, if I had the time.

One morning, I went into town.

Needed coffee and some ground round.

I saw a little café. It was open.

I went in to wet my throat then.

I decided I would have some breakfast.

Bacon, eggs, toast, & coffee should last.

This beautiful girl came over to me.

She smiled nice & said “What will it be?”

I couldn’t speak, I was so surprised.

It took my breath away looking into her eyes.

I stammered and said “Yes, I am ready.”

She said “The special today is spaghetti.”

“Oh, no. I would like some  breakfast.”

She took my order, as you might guess.

She came back with the coffee; cream to.

She said “Are you just passing through?”

I told her I have a place close to town.

She was looking at me with a frown.

I said “What are you frowning about?”

“I don’t remember you.”, with doubt.

“I just moved in about a month ago.”

She smiled big & said “Oh?, Glad to know.”

“I was born & raised in this small town.”

“I don’t get around much.” she frowned.

“Are you married with kids?” I said.

“Hardly, No boyfriend. Still unwed.”

“I didn’t mean to pry.” I said with strife.

“How about yourself? No wife?”

“No, single. I moved here to write poems.”

“I do it as a hobby. Not for coins.”

“How do you make a living then?”

“Lucky. I have a good lottery win.”

She brought me my breakfast then.

As I ate, she watched with a grin.

“Oh, don’t let me bother you.”

“I was just surprised at what you do.”

“Why, don’t you like poems or something?”

“No, I write them myself, it’s my thing.”

“Really, I would love to read some sometime.”

“Anytime with me would be just fine.”

This started a relationship with no end.

Neither of us knew just where to begin.

But, we had no lack of poetic material.

We both wrote them. We knew it was real.

I would like to say that this is the end.

But, it keeps coming back again & again.

Where this is going, who can tell?

But, we’re both young, so what the hell!!

Side Streets

      Side Streets

Time rolls along down the main highway of life.

Here, we face happiness, also,  our strife.

Yet, there are many things we learn and say

that we didn’t pick up along the main highway.

It seems there are many side streets.

Some that offer us many treats.

They may or may not be best for us.

I guess it depends on who you trust.

Other side streets offer adventure.

But, we may find, if we venture

down these streets, we get off course.

To get back, it may take force.

A force of will to overcome.

Overcoming is hard for some.

Yet, to reach our full potential,

It will be far from uneventful.

We may be following a goal.

So, we have some idea which way to go.

But, to reach our destiny,

we must resist trips down side streets, you see.

Side streets are not always named.

Going down them, we could be maimed.

Walk with pride but, with wisdom too.

Learn from your mistakes. Learn to be true.

True to yourself in every way.

Just take it day by day.

In the end you’ll know who you are.

Your destiny is fulfilled when you are your own star.

Only By Faith

      Only By Faith

Two shots ring out in the dark.

One of them has pierced her heart.

We don’t need the Bible to know.

Something is wrong with this show.

Two young lovers walking along.

They were happy, singing a song.

When this tragedy struck one dead.

There was nothing to be said.

Months later, the police had a suspect.

Mistake in identity was his regret.

He intended for it to be someone else.

It doesn’t change how we all felt.

We wanted blood, mainly his.

He needs the death penalty for all this.

Life goes on for us without her.

Nothing really makes it better, for sure.

There has got to be a better way.

People are being killed every day.

Wasted lives, snuffed out when young.

Never knowing what they would become.

Are we to forgive the person who kills our love one?

Does that make it better, like it had never begun?

It takes a deep agape love to understand this.

Otherwise, there is no sense even being remiss.

Without agape love, the death penalty is it.

Still,—– nothing will ever  let you forget.

A type of hate festers and grows.

Nothing will cool it. that’s how it goes.

The end result is a loss all around.

There has to be holier ground.

The fact that God can take away all hate & bitterness.

Is a miracle beyond words, least we forget.

I pray that I am never faced with such a thing.

By faith alone,  can one’s feelings bring

any kind of conciliation for such a heinous act.

Totally trusting in God is where it is at.

What’s Your Destiny?

      What’s Your Destiny?

What is a person’s destiny?

Can it be known at a person’s birth?

Whatever the circumstances can be.

Can affect what a man is worth.

But, each man has the power

to make his own destiny.

When he has reached his darkest hour,

he may choose the path to be free.

Be he a great person or a failure.

The choice was his to make.

He can be a hero or live in a trailer.

He can be kind or a nasty fake.

He can love others like himself.

Or despise everyone he meets.

He can whip himself with belts.

Doing penitence in his grief.

What type of person are you?

Do you think of your destiny?

Have you really thought it through?

Or, are you blinded by misery?

There is a destiny available to all.

One anyone would be proud to have.

Just answer His beaconed call.

Eternal life in heaven is not so bad.

Yet, we are all given a choice.

We all have free will.

It is time to raise your voice.

You have a destiny to fill.

“The Terror”

      “The Terror”

The wind blows across the ice floes.

The ship is frozen in solid. It’s as far as it goes.

This Northwest Passage is impossible to sail.

We just sit here and hear the wind wail.

We have been frozen in  for two months.

There is not enough food to eat lunch.

We are down to one meal a day.

There is no more food on the way.

A decision must be reached.

Some one has to go for relief.

Set out across the frozen waste.

They must travel with much haste.

So, a few were selected to Make the trek

They may die but, what the heck.

To not go means death for sure.

To be frozen is not an attractive lure.

There are rumors about ‘The Terror.’

The name given to something out there.

It can be heard out on the frozen waste.

Waiting, to have a human to taste.

No one knows just what it looks like.

Some kind of pre-historic, ugly type.

Something big with very sharp teeth.

It is hungry for something to eat.

The rescue team has gone away.

Yet, “The Terror,’ seems to stay.

We don’t know if we will last

We keep guard from the mast.

Time drags on and we grow weaker.

Soon,—– we will meet the creature.

We say our prayers and make our peace.

We’ll do all we can to avoid its teeth.

One man from the rescue team survived.

Help was sent. Hoping to find them alive.

Every man they found on board was dead.

Ripped apart and eaten alive, it was said.

A Northwest Passage was never found.

Every ship would be frozen or run aground

in the most severe conditions known to man.

Not to mention, “The Terror,” still rules that land.

Spring Cleaning In The Winter

      Spring Cleaning In The Winter

I see what to do, now that I’ve been here.

It’s time for spring cleaning in the winter.

Out with all those old bad moods.

All they do is make me lose.

Out with hatred and jealousy.

I can make her fall for me.

It is time to do away with the grudges.

They cripple me up so that I need crutches.

Time to stop the inferior feelings.

They can leave my body tingling.

Time to make room for more love.

Think of the type sent from above.

Clean up my act inside and out.

No time to sit around and pout.

Be a complimentary gentleman.

Women are always mentally thin.

Be the best that I can be.

I’m not talking about the ARMY, you see.

After the cleaning, I’m ready for spring.

And all the loving it can bring.

My mind is open, my heart is to.

Now,—– all I need is you.

Love Never Grows Old

      Love Never Grows Old

Tell me, are my eyes still blue?

My hair is gray, just like you.

Do my lips still taste the same?

Despite all the aches and pains,

I still love you like I always did.

I have loved you since we were kids.

My skin is dry and wrinkled.

I have problems when I tinkle.

Liver spots are now quite common.

My favorite food is now Top Ramon.

I have to take my time when I walk.

My legs look like 2 pieces of chalk.

Yet, my heart is still aflame.

Just the mention of your name

can get my heart to flutter.

You excite me like no other.

Many seasons have come and gone.

If I had known I’d live so long,

I would have kept in better shape.

That way, I could still have my cake.

But, never cake without the frosting.

I know how much it is costing.

For you are the frosting on my cake.

You have been since the very first date.

I have grown old but, I don’t feel blue.

Why?—– Because I still have you.

The Watchers

             The Watchers

I was walking down a country road.

Enjoying the view, resting my load.

Then, I looked up in the sky.

A UFO caught my eye.

It came slowly down.

Then hovered, just off the ground.

I went over for a closer look.

I heard a rumble & the ground shook.

A blue light came down & covered me.

Next, I was in the air above the trees.

I was taken up inside the ship.

Next I knew, I was in, like a slip.

Three big eyed creatures surrounded me.

Big head, no ears, & a slit of a mouth, you see.

They were short, about three feet tall.

They spoke inside my head. What gall.

Mental telepathy, it seemed to be.

They wanted to know all about me.

I wanted to know about them to.

There was nothing I could do.

After awhile, I was communicating well.

They understood all, from what I could tell.

They said they have observed our race for a millennium.

They wondered why we couldn’t get it in our craniums.

A pretense for violence is wrong.

We could all end up dead and totally gone.

Self annihilation,  they think it is called.

I asked them about their cattle mutilations?

They said it was another alien nation.

There is more than us who are watchers.

I said too bad they weren’t helpful, like doctors.

A treaty in place prevents direct intervention.

Although, this did not reduce the tension.

I wondered what was the sense of it all?

Most races wanted earth to answer the call.

What call are you referring to?

The call to join the universal community pool.

To be one race among the many others.

That stretch across the galaxies, one to another.

Many, many planets have races that are coming of age.

They will soon be ready to join the universal stage.

To obtain this we must stop warring with our fellow man.

At least, that is the general plan.

All races seem to reach a point in their growth

where they will self destruct or overcome & promote

the wellbeing of everyone and all others.

Think of everyone as a sister or brother.

Then, they are ready to leave their earth.

To expand into space, for what it is worth.

To become part of the universal community.

To live in peace and harmony.

That final step is up to us

Does the human race have the stuff?

All we can do is wait and see.

The ‘watchers’ hope we will learn to be free.
