Home Sweet Home

             Home Sweet Home

I am headed for home after many years.

If I can find my way through all my tears.

Things are not the same as they used to be.

Much has changed. Some very recently.

A fire has wiped out much of the town.

There are many new buildings around.

Home is not what it used to be.

Much of it is different to me.

I head out of town toward my home.

A small farm where I have grown.

There it is looking much the same.

It is like an old friend in name.

I feel the old nostalgia here.

This is home. That is clear.

I have been away far too long.

Now, I feel like singing a song.

I felt rocky till I arrived here.

This old farm takes away all my fear.

It is you in the doorway that I see.

I feel your fingers feather soft upon me.

I taste your kisses, sweet as honey.

I was gone, just to make some money.

But, the real riches are here in my arms.

I am overwhelmed by your charms.

I am home to never roam again.

Here with my lifelong lover and friend.

Scientist Succeeds, For Himself Only

   Scientist Succeeds, For Himself Only

The scientist was working in his lab.

His private project, for which he was glad.

Others would think he was totally nuts.

But, he had a theory, he had the bucks.

He felt man could pass through solids.

He could walk through walls. He vowed this.

Everything is mostly open space.

The space between the atoms, in this case.

If you could line up your atoms with others.

You could pass through, if it’s your druthers.

Jesus did it in the Bible, or so it states.

After his resurrection, an altered state?

Before His death He passed through crowds.

Maybe invisible? Not because of a shroud.

Scientifically, it should be able to be done.

If it could, he would be the one.

He worked for years to figure out how.

There had to be a way somehow.

Then, his hand passed through the countertop.

He was totally and completely in shock.

What exactly had he done?

Could it be done by anyone?

He was mentally willing his atoms to align.

It happened so easily, it shocked his mind.

He immediately put it to the test.

His hand went through anything without rest.

Then, came the biggest challenge of all.

He would try to walk through a wall.

He walked right through without any sweat.

Why so long for this challenge to be met?

It was a peculiar way of thinking.

It did take years to develop, without blinking.

He realized it had to come automatically.

“It was natural,” he said dramatically.

What was he going to do now?

Such thoughts before, he wouldn’t allow.

He didn’t want to be distracted in any way.

Now, he had to figure out what to say.

In the end, he kept the secret for his own pleasure.

Too many complications could affect his fate here.

Just the fact that he did succeed.

Would have to fulfill his every need.

It was better this way.

Such knowledge could ruin the day.

The Game Of Life

               The Game Of Life

There is a way through this maze called life.

Avoid the traps, manholes, and fights.

To have a fight must first come disagreement.

To avoid it usually means concede sent.

Be what they call the bigger man.

Concede your point, if you can.

The same with overwhelming emotions.

Such a thing can cause a commotion.

Maneuver around them as best you can.

Emotional scars will remain, like grains of sand.

In every endeavor we make in life.

It is a big game, often with strife.

To win this game will take much skill.

You can do it, if you have the will.

You can become an exceptional player.

Defeating each problem layer by layer.

Don’t stop on free parking. A mental breakdown.

Just move right on past with your head down.

Work on increasing your positives.

Work on decreasing your negatives.

The game of life can be tons of fun.

But, you can also feel under the gun.

It is all how you play the game.

Play to win. You will love what you gain.

Country Correlations

          Country Correlations

Drinking and thinking about a better life.

Maybe one that also included a wife.

I know it is all more delusional thinking.

So, I forget about it and go back to drinking.

Drinking, , good old boys, and pickup trucks.

Living in the country and hunting ducks.

Drinking moonshine when it’s around.

Partying on the levee. That summer sound.

All adds up to my way of life.

Could all this include a wife?

It seems doubtful at this time.

After all, I’m just in my prime.

Now I know how it all starts.

The depression and broken hearts.

This way of life may not be best.

I just may not be up to the test.

Country music just makes it worse.

It just perpetrates this awful curse.

There has to be a way besides liquor

It surely can’t be becoming a city slicker.

Once there I’ll be toting a heavy load.

I’ll be singing “Take me home country roads.”

Yup, I can see. Country is the place for me.

Where’s that country lass that wants to be free?

The Crying Game

          The Crying Game

It makes me dizzy and I wonder why?

Damsels dressed for a perfect lie.

I have seen so much pride

it could make you cry.

Footloose and fancy free.

In the park to see  what I can see.

There is more than meets the eye.

It is enough to make you cry.

In a world with so many choices.

Why must I hear so many voices?

I just shrug and give a sigh.

There is no use to cry.

She came on strong with desires.

There was no way that I was tired.

Is this all just one big lie?

It is enough to make one cry.

There must be a way into the light.

Living in the dark is such a fright.

There was light. I said ‘My oh my.”

Pretty enough to make me cry.

Save Me

                 Save Me

Save me from these midnight sweats.

Demons come that desire my death.

Save me from these desperate times.

The future is brighter when you are mine.

Save me from any deadly sins.

You know you are more than a friend.

Save me from my crazy thoughts.

Without you, I know I am lost.

Save me from my insane desires.

Keep me from becoming a liar.

Save me, especially just for you.

You know I want you to be true.

Especially save me from myself.

Do not set me upon a shelf.

Save me for a perfect future.

You will do it? Are you sure??

She’s The One

She’s The One

The time is now.

She is the one.

I knew, somehow,

this time would come.

To have her near

is everything.

She removes all fear.

She is a queen.

When she comes

into a room.

My heart becomes

a big balloon.

It swells  with pride

at just the sight of her.

She will be my bride.

I know this will occur.

In her own way,

she completes me.

What more can I say?

We fit so neatly.

She’s my all and everything.

Complete, down to desire.

The greatest love she can bring.

Strictly for me. I am no liar

My eyes are open.

The way is sure.

Until I croak then,

I will cherish her.

The Mystery Of Mountain Mike

      The Mystery Of Mountain Mike

Mountain Mike was a mountain man.

Hunting and trapping in mountain land.

Making a living from selling the furs.

He had his rifle and a mangy cur.

He would be gone all year long.

He would hunt and fish till game was gone.

He was friends with most of the Indians.

Even so, he would seldom see them.

One day he found a girl, nearly dead.

Her parents died of a disease, it’s said.

She was starving, went looking for food.

She was in a severely depressed mood.

Mike nursed her back to health.

In his one room cabin, built for himself.

After a few months, they became friends.

She called him father in the end.

He taught her to fish, hunt, and trap.

Prepare the fur for taking back.

Taking back to the outpost to be sold.

Then buy supplies for the winter cold.

She became an expert shot.

Better than Mike, when really hot.

He was very proud of her.

Dressed her In their very best fur.

They were a team. They worked well.

Herding game to nature’s hell.

A box canyon where they were trapped.

Taking the best game was a snap.

They didn’t kill for fun. Only to eat & survive.

 Selling furs kept them alive.

They would fish to feed themselves.

They were where nature dwells.

Several years passed by.

Then, Mike was injured in a landslide.

She drug him miles to civilization.

On a cot made for the occasion.

People were amazed by her feat.

When done, she was still on her feet.

Mike recovered with medical aid.

After a month resting in the shade

they headed for the mountains then.

One year, they were never heard from again.

But, their rumors will never die.

Others said they saw them bye and bye.

No one could say for sure.

Yet somehow, they got a supply of fur.

Time Is Running Out

             Time Is Running Out

I had visitors come to me in the night.

In dreams and visions that were out of sight.

Was it visitors from Never Land?

Maybe Tinkerbelle and Peter Pan?

No such thing was happening to me.

It was religious visions for me to see.

Angels guiding me to heavenly places.

I was shown many suffering faces.

Those on earth who are on the fence.

The valley of decision in their defense.

Will they choose the heavenly path?

Or, be led astray by the devil, at last?

The time to choose will be closing soon.

Don’t be caught baying at the moon.

I was told to spread the word.

Let people know what I saw and heard.

Everything that can be shaken will be.

If you’re sealed, you will be free.

There is much to learn and little time to do it.

The end for such effort will be a heavenly trip.

There will be trouble here like never was.

Too horrible to describe. Turn to His love.

If you are His, you are never lost.

You can’t be taken from His hand at any cost.

Choose before probation closes.

Make the correct choice, like Moses.

You have freedom of choice.

You’re not an organic robitoid with no voice.

The day of the Lord is coming soon.

Tell Him your heart has plenty of room.

The Speed Reader

             The Speed Reader

I signed up for a speed reading course.

I was a slow reader, due to being forced.

The course was by Evelyn Woodhead.

By the time I was done, I was almost dead.

Read faster or lose a finger.

Keep reading. It’s no time to linger.

Read when the pressure is on.

Keep reading from dusk to dawn.

Keep reading and do not sleep.

Keep reading and do not eat.

If you stop you may lose your head.

Keep reading or you’ll end up dead.

I read like hell just to survive.

I had to make it out alive.

I read War And Peace in less than a day.

There was no time to relax and play.

Such a course is run by the devil.

I am talking on the level.

Finally, came the day I got my degree.

Signed in blood for all to see.

I can speed read like a champ.

Even though many others can’t.

There’s just one problem with the lot.

When I start, I just can’t stop.
