The Speed Reader

             The Speed Reader

I signed up for a speed reading course.

I was a slow reader, due to being forced.

The course was by Evelyn Woodhead.

By the time I was done, I was almost dead.

Read faster or lose a finger.

Keep reading. It’s no time to linger.

Read when the pressure is on.

Keep reading from dusk to dawn.

Keep reading and do not sleep.

Keep reading and do not eat.

If you stop you may lose your head.

Keep reading or you’ll end up dead.

I read like hell just to survive.

I had to make it out alive.

I read War And Peace in less than a day.

There was no time to relax and play.

Such a course is run by the devil.

I am talking on the level.

Finally, came the day I got my degree.

Signed in blood for all to see.

I can speed read like a champ.

Even though many others can’t.

There’s just one problem with the lot.

When I start, I just can’t stop.

Don’t Let It Be

            Don’t Let It Be

Lovers crying with a broken heart.

Love is tearing them apart.

Let it be. Let it be.

War is brewing in the news.

People drinking too much booze.

Let it be. Let it be.

People being killed off daily.

Many people headed for Hades.

Let it be. Let it be.

Speaking words of wisdom. Let it be.

Storms and starvation in the news.

Disease and infestation, increased blues.

Let it be. Let it be.

Tornadoes and earthquakes.

Hurricanes and riotous hate.

Let it be. Let it be.

Volcanoes and forest fires.

Floods and sinful desires.

Let it be. Let it be.

Speaking words of wisdom. Let it be.

This you hear from the pulpits now.

Love Jesus. All will be fine somehow.

Let it be. Let it be.

No warning will lead to death.

In eternal life, you must invest.

Do not think just let it be.

Get all your choices in line.

You are running out of time.

Don’t let it be. Let it be.

The end is coming very soon.

Preach it to all in the room.

Don’t let it be. Let it be.

Speaking words of wisdom. Don’t let it be.

The Road Of Progress

     The Road Of Progress

It was late on a very dark night.

It was coming, just out of sight.

Down the road, it was said.

A monster lurked. It was red.

Then, it was on the road.

Charging fast, smoke billowed.

It roared like an angry lion.

Its eyes glowed. I ain’t lying.

The year was 1901.

I dropped my bottle of rum.

I took off through the woods.

I was running as fast as I could.

It growled and flew on by,

down the road with an eerie cry.

What the hell was that thing?

It smelled like smoke and gasoline.

I was shaking in my boots.

I ran home for a gun to shoot.

I went back and waited for it.

I heard it coming lickedy split.

I fired several rounds into it.

It swerved and did a flip.

It was lying on its back.

Smoke was raising. It’s a fact.

Slowly, I approached the beast.

There was a body underneath.

Then, I saw it was a machine.

Then I woke up from the dream.

I had to call it a nightmare.

It was scary as hell, I swear.

Later I went out to the road.

Strange tracks there did unfold.

Like wagon tracks, but wider.

I took a swig of apple cider.

I needed something stronger.

I can’t take this much longer.

So started the automobile age.

Similar storied were the rage.

So, don’t be shocked, if today.

Something strange comes your way.

The Decision To Serve

     The Decision To Serve

He had heard some sort of call.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

To hear what transpired.

Too bad he wasn’t wired.

He showed up right on time.

Strip searched. He paid no mind.

Shown in to an inner room.

To meet someone there in the gloom.

What had he gotten into?

He felt the call. He was no fool.

It was a woman who met him there.

Non descript, except for her hair.

“You understand why you’re here?”

“I think so, but make it clear.”

“You’re here because you’re the chosen one.”

“You will lead us to Kingdom Come.”

“How can such a thing be done?”

“After all, I am insignificant to some.”

“You will be given all you need.”

“What’s in your heart is all you need.”

“Whatever your will. I am all yours.”

“I totally surrender all my fears.”

“You will be blessed my son.”

“You will be guided from the only One.”

If this was what it was like to surrender.

Would more people become a member?

Would more be soldiers for God?

Would more carry an iron rod?

For each of us it is a private matter.

Between you and your God, a ladder.

Many are chosen, few respond.

Be one of them that will go on.

God can use all who are willing.

Yes, it can, and will be thrilling.

How you’re used will fit your nature.

God, the creator, Knows your fate here.

Trust in Him with all your heart.

He is with you from the start.

You’ll never face more than you can bare.

He is with you everywhere.

Billy Joe Scores Big

         Billy Joe Scores Big

Billy Joe was the man of the day.

Conquest was the game to play.

He dominated the dating field.

All his conquests could make you reel.

Billy Joe had his fancy car.

He had the looks to take him far.

He had the money to impress .

He was the best, more or less.

Till the day he pushed too far.

He ended up with a nasty scar.

She kicked him right under the chin.

Stomped his crotch when he fell then.

He was rolling and puking in pain.

This might become his claim to fame.

It hit him like a thunderbolt from above.

He had been wrong about his way of love.

Billy Joe changed his ways.

Became a gentleman in every way.

Treated every girl with the most respect.

Her feelings, he would never neglect.

His reputation was tarnished for awhile.

“It will pass”, he said with a smile.

Sure enough, it truly did.

His true emotions were never hid.

Eventually, all girls trusted him.

He was considered a man among men.

He won the hand of the prettiest of all.

The queen of the harvest ball.

In the end, she became his wife.

They were living the perfect life.

At one time she despised him.

An attitude adjustment brought a win.

The Dragon Rider’s Dragon Gets Revenge

The Dragon Rider’s Dragon Gets Revenge

After a month, the Dragon Riders had grown close.

Their dragons too, thought each other was the most.

They all laid plans to find the ones who attacked.

Driving a lance into Wendy’s dragon to kill. A fact.

Gale would make the rounds of the pubs.

He wasn’t known around Wendy’s homeland pubs.

He would try to get a line on the attackers.

They had to be bragging. It’s a fact, he feared.

He found out right away there were 3 of them.

The last members of gang that didn’t win.

The ones who starved a town to death without fail.

Then, were made crispy critters by Wendy & Gale.

The 3 waited for Wendy and her dragon.

The attack came quick to surprise them.

They were bragging about it all over town.

Gale knew it was time to put them down.

Gale and Wendy got the jump on them one night.

They tied them up real tight.

Laid them over a horse and left town.

Took them to where no one was around.

Got a confession whose idea it was.

The same one who threw the lance, because

he wanted to be the slayer of a dragon.

He then went all over town bragging.

The dragons were waiting for them.

“Dragon justice is needed here.” Said Gale.

Wendy said “I agree with that,  without fail.”

Wendy’s dragon grabbed the leader.

Gale’s dragon made crispy critters of 2 bleeders.

Wendy’s dragon took off, holding the guys shirt

in his teeth. He was screaming for all his worth.

They got so high, they looked like two dots.

Then, the dragon flung him into a pile of rocks.

So, the dragon got his revenge.

So did Wendy and their friends.

The Dragon Riders made a vow.

They would always help the other somehow.

It seemed their dragons had bonded with each other.

Gale thought things looked good for one another.

Wendy and Gale will become as one too.

But, that story is not yet true.

When it is, we will check in again.

In the meantime, here’s to them.

Love: The Great Unknown

       Love: The Great Unknown

Reach a certain age and you will know

that love is the strongest emotion to flow.

Hormones kick in and love is there.

It is all around you everywhere.

If there is no confusion in gender,

you will be shocked at what it can render.

I am only speaking heterosexually.

The feelings you feel can set you free.

Eventually, you find the love of your life.

On the way, there may be pain and strife.

Mainly because love is so overwhelming,

It covers all areas, without even telling.

With luck, your love will be your helpmate.

Your soul mate, that shares your fate.

Your hearts are entwined as one.

Sharing all that’s seen and done.

Such a thing can be heaven on earth.

You’ll never know just what it’s worth.

If this happens to not be your fate,

start working harder, before it’s too late.

More Worlds Than One

      More Worlds Than One

There is a different world all around.

Hidden behind a vale, I have found.

Populated by angels, demons too.

All wanting to be a friend to you.

The demons want to lead you astray.

The angels want you to learn to pray.

We are pones in a universal war.

Good vs evil, that reaches the core.

True, we have freedom of choice.

But, they influence us by voice.

By temptations we don’t realize.

In many ways that are in disguise.

In order to tell truth from error.

We need a guide to fight the terror.

Dress in the whole armor of God.

Learn how in the guide book from God.

The Holy Bible is all you need.

Plus, a big dose of faith, indeed.

If the scales were removed from our eyes,

we would be shocked. We would cry:

“Help us God. We have no place here.”

Yet, it is all around,—– I fear.

A day is coming when we will see clearly.

Pray that it will affect us sincerely.

Affect us in a way that leads to The Light.

Then pray with all your might.

Pray you will be able to overcome.

And be a citizen of the kingdom come.

The Futility Of The Bottle

     The Futility Of The Bottle

Life ain’t much, but it’s all there is.

It will probably go out with a fizz.

Closing down the bars at 0200 every night.

Doing my best not to get in a fight.

Having nightly drunkalogs with the boys.

All through an alcoholic haze. What joy.

No one pays attention to us.

Just as long as we don’t disrupt.

We try to get out on the floor.

On weekends, music brings them in the door.

A few females will dance a little.

Most don’t like to be sprayed with spittle.

They come in with a date.

They don’t want an alcoholic mate.

It’s the same old thing every night.

Always trying to score. It’s such a fright.

The next day is always hell at work.

You feel like hell, but still you smirk.

“I had a super time last night.”

One of these days I’ll get it right.

In the meantime, here’s to you.

I raise my glass of liquid brew.

Shifting Reality, Or The Matrix?

     Shifting Reality, Or The Matrix?

Something is a little different every day.

Slight changes, in their own way.

The room seems slightly cleaner.

True?, or am I a dreamer?

Sometimes things shift during the day.

Almost imperceptible, I would say.

Be attuned and you will see.

Sometimes, even changes in me.

Do we slip in our reality?

Are we aware of our quality?

Most noticeable is loss of things.

Or, things moved without any means.

Less noticeable is how the day flows.

Not as smooth as it should go.

Is there something in between?

Is it things are not what they seem?

A daily shifting to a different place.

So minute that we miss our fate.

Try to be alert to any change.

It becomes apparent, though not explained.

It is enough to blow your mind.

Sorry, this is not so kind.

Yet, what is happening here?

Can anyone make it all clear?

First step is to become awake.

Observe all things. Whatever it takes.

Keep in mind, to keep it fair.

Be attuned to what’s in the air.

Or, maybe it’s in the water.

Are we being fed on fodder?

The answer lies beyond me.

Maybe you will be able to see.

It is all part of our reality.

Or, part of the matrix. Really?
