The Dragon Rider And The Wizard

The Dragon Rider And The Wizard

The Dragon Rider was on a flight.
His dragon was fast. He held on tight.
They dove, swooped, and looped around.
It was lots of fun, he found.
Then, suddenly, something was wrong.
The communication between them was gone.
Their flight got wobbly, then plummeted.
It took all his dragon’s will to overcome it.
She pulled out just in time.
They skimmed the treetops with a whine.
Soon, communication & control returned.
The dragon recited what she had learned.
‘We were hit by some sort of magic wave.’
‘Next time we may crash, I am afraid.’
“Only a wizard could wield such power.”
“I will locate him within the hour.”
The Dragon Rider had the dragon land.
He set out on foot to beat the band.
He knew approximately where to go.
He would put a stop to this wizard’s show.
Soon, he found a tower deep in the woods.
He was very cautious, like a good knight should.
He got to the wall without incident.
He scaled the wall, using the grooves in it.
He heard the wizard talking inside.
“I crashed the dragon and her ride.”
“The Dragon Rider will bother us no more.”
He laughed loud enough to vibrate the door.
The wizard and another were no good.
They were planning to rob the neighborhood.
The Dragon Rider mentally alerted his dragon.
‘Time to fix this wizard’s wagon.’
‘Come in fast. Dragon fire in the top window.’
‘Make it hot enough to ignite kindle.’
Once done, the Dragon Rider entered the door.
Soon, the wizard and the other were on the floor.
He had them bound and gagged.
He filled their mouths with dirty rags.
He hauled them into town to the pokey.
Smoke was still coming off his trophies.
So, spread the Dragon Rider’s fame.
Known as Dragon Rider, none knew his name.
That is how he wanted it to be.
For, his story is not ended yet, you see.

Dreams From Beyond

Dreams From Beyond

Winged creatures coming out of the sky.
Showing long claws to rip out an eye.
Run like the wind to get away.
Do your best to live another day.

There is danger and death at every turn.
Watch your step, always. Live and learn.
This is no place for the weak of heart.
There are things here that will rip you apart.

Don’t go into the swampy water.
Something moving. It’s not an otter.
A shrill cry to chill your bones.
I know you are glad you’re not alone.

Demons with fire flashing out of their eyes.
Scary beasts, not wearing a disguise.
Where does this nightmare end?
While here, you are my only friend.

We crawl and slither like a snake.
Trying to sneak by mother nature’s mistake.
Such horrors are blowing my mind.
I’ve never been so scared at any time.

A voice echoed: “You will sow what you reaped.”
What is this? The demons keep?
This place must be non-existents.
How can evil exist with such persistence?

I awake suddenly. Sweat soaked sheets droop.
My mind flashes back to that primordial soup.
I am shaking. Almost out of my mind.
Too sleep again will take a lot of time.

I grab the phone and give you a call.
You answer, all shook. You also dreamed it all.
We were both shaking in our boots.
We had been scared down to our roots.

Was this a premonition? We feared.
Both dreaming the same was pretty weird.
But, the answer was never made clear.
It seemed, in the long run, we had nothing to fear.

The Truth About Cheese

The Truth About Cheese

“What do you mean?,”
Said the cheese to the spread.
“It is what I’ve seen.”
“Don’t let it go to your head.”

“I won’t” the cheese said.
“Yet, I still do not see.”
“What I mean” said spread.
“Is cheese can bind you up, see?”

“I would never do such a thing.”
“Can they ‘poop’ when done?”
“Think of all the joy cheese can bring.”
“I was thinking of another type of fun.”

“Look spread, get your facts straight.”
“That is how it was told to me.”
“Someone was jiving you to take the bait.”
‘Why would pizza mess with me?”

“Pizza? He causes nightmares you know.”
“He said you made up most of him.”
“He is no better than a ‘Sloppy’ Joe.”
“Me being blamed for him is slim.”

“He is the one that can be binding.”
“I just go along for the ride.”
“He can set one’s stomach grinding.”
“I ought to rip him a new hide.”

“Sorry, I guess I got it all wrong.”
“It’s o.k. spread, now you know the truth.”
“I will now sing a new song.”
“No, no spread. Pizza may raise the roof.”

“I must go with him to keep him good.”
“He would be in real trouble without me.”
“Cheese keeps him tasting like he should.”
“Without me, he is nothing, you see.”

Twilight Friendship

Twilight Friendship

I always stayed in the twilight.
Never trusting anyone.
It seems odd, but it was my life.
I knew I was not the only one.

Never close with anyone.
I saw others who were the same.
Life was never too much fun.
Others didn’t know my name.

Then it happened before I knew it.
I saw you running from another.
He yelled “I’ll kill you, you bitch.”
His voice made me shudder.

I waved you to a place only I knew.
He was cursing as he ran by.
I didn’t say “What did you do?”
She wouldn’t want me to pry.

When he didn’t return you said “Thanks.”
“Your safe now.” I said with assurance.
“He didn’t mean it. He is just a crank.”
“He sounded mad about some occurrence.”

“I had to steal some food from him.”
“If you’re hungry, I have some food,”
“I wouldn’t intrude. It’s different with him.”
“I live alone. You won’t intrude.”

She shyly agreed to come for a bite.
She said she is normally all alone.
“I only come out at night.”
“I am also a person who is alone.’

She didn’t say much about herself.
I didn’t pry. It wasn’t like me.
She did say she seldom accepts help.
She didn’t trust others, as I could see.

I said we were a lot alike.
“I almost never am with anyone.”
“I am a creature of the twilight.”
“It was because I didn’t trust any one.”

She said “Why are you helping me?”
I said that I couldn’t answer that.
“It seemed right at the time, you see.”
She said “I can relate to that.”

I still see her from time to time.
Always at twilight, when all is dark.
It was her choice as much as mine.
It seems a friendship was about to start.

This is new for each down to our core.
It is developing at its own pace.
We are trusting each other more.
We may soon get our own place.

I just assume it was meant to be.
There is no way to explain it.
Now, we both feel much more free.
It is well worth it to maintain it.

Running Scared

Running Scared

It is a big world out there.
Are they coming for me?
They will look everywhere.
I must hide to remain free.

Some say it is in my head.
No one is coming for me.
I would rather run instead.
This is how it’s got to be.

They have tried before.
I had barely gotten away.
They busted in the door.
They weren’t there to play.

I managed to slip through a crack.
They were searching high & low.
The strain almost broke my back.
This part they will never know.

What I know, they want to hush.
Though I have never told a sole.
They just keep coming in a rush.
They are afraid of what I know.

I never stay in one place long.
I know they will never stop.
So, I just keep moving along.
Trust no one. Not even a cop.

This can get old very fast.
I feel like “The Fugitive.”
Hiding, to save my ass.
You never know who it is.

Perhaps I can use what I know.
Use it to save my life somehow.
If only I knew which way to go.
I need a friend with me now.

I have recorded it all today.
If they get me, others will know.
I have carefully hidden it away.
Upon my death, others will go.

They will know where to look.
They will hear the whole story.
Maybe one will write a book.
Telling all, no matter how gory.

Bring them all to their knees.
Something I can’t do on my own.
I can’t see the forest for the trees.
Others can do it, once shown.

There is little hope for me.
I realize that fact now.
But, others will be able to see.
Then, put an end to it, somehow.

Time Slipping Away

Time Slipping Away

It seems like time kept slipping away.
He decided to change things one day.
After 2 years of research he had it.
A single pill to make him fit.
He popped the pill & time slowed down.
He looked around with a frown.
All seemed normal all around him.
The clock has stopped, he said with a grin.
Then, VERY slowly. The door opened.
His lab assistant was approaching.
It took him 5 minutes to go 10 feet.
It was weird, but pretty neat.
The assistant couldn’t see him move.
He was much too fast to behoove.
To him, the assistant was VERY slow.
He had actually speeded up, you know.
Then, he realized, time wasn’t slipping by.
It was flying by. He started to cry.
This wasn’t the result he was hoping for.
He hoped the change wasn’t for good.
He wanted to slow down, if he could.
Eventually, the effects wore off.
He looked around, with a cough.
He didn’t care about time slipping away.
He decided he kind of liked it this way.
The lesson learned here was very clear.
Don’t rush it. Just kick back and have a beer.

The Fastest Gun Always Won

The Fastest Gun Always Won

Long ago, in the cowboy days,
a fast draw was just a blaze.
If you could draw and fire first,
You would find that you are cursed.

Everyone would be looking for you.
They wanted to be the fastest too.
The way it’s done is to outdraw you.
But, this would mean you’re dead too.

A young lad that I heard of then.
He was so fast, let me tell you friend.
You could not see his draw.
He never missed. He could split a straw.

But, this young lad was very smart.
He wore no gun from the start.
He didn’t want anyone to know.
He was the fastest of any show.

He didn’t want that type of reputation.
To be known as the fastest in the nation
was not his bag of tea.
It was all very simple, you see.

He practiced till he was the best.
His parents were killed by a guest.
Someone they invited into their home.
He was a killer, it was later known.

The lad saw him and knew him by sight.
That’s why he practiced day and night.
Then, he heard the killer was in town.
So, that’s exactly where he was bound.

Before he got there, there was a fight.
The killer was killed in a gunfight.
He realized he could end up just like him.
He decided to put up his guns then.

So, the fastest gun in the West
Will never be known as the best.
At least till he was elected sheriff.
Then, he had to shoot and bare it.

Seldom did someone even try.
They found his speed wasn’t a lie.
Gun in his hand before they cleared leather.
They went to jail for being so cleaver.

In time, gunfights became a thing of the past.
The sheriff was never laid under the grass.
His reputation, be what it may,
became the stories of another day.

Unusual Bigfoot Sighting

Unusual Bigfoot Sighting

We heard the stories of sightings.
We wanted to do the right things.
Bigfoot has been seen in many places.
Where his foot print is, there his face is.

We set out with all our supplies.
The beautiful Northwest before our eyes.
Somewhere out there Bigfoot was seen.
We just hoped he wasn’t mean.

Two weeks later and no luck yet.
What would we do if we met?
We did find some Bigfoot tracks.
We searched high & low for the facts.

Then, our persistence paid off.
We saw Bigfoot & he was wroth.
He took off with us on his trail.
It was hard, but we kept on his tail.

Then, we saw him standing in a meadow.
What he was up to, we still didn’t know.
Then, we saw a UFO coming down.
It settled by Bigfoot, on the ground.

Bigfoot walked over and got on board.
The hatch closed & we were abhorred.
The UFO lifted from the site.
In no time, it was out of sight.

We lucked out & got it all on film.
Close ups & all, from our drone.
Will he be coming back soon?
We can hope. It was only noon.

Reptilian City Discovered?

Reptilian City Discovered?

He was lost in the jungle.
He was all alone.
All he owned was in his bundle.
He didn’t even have a phone.
How he got here, he didn’t know.
He knew where he was from.
He knew his head took a blow.
Then, memories started to come.
A plane crash. Just jungle below.
He knew they were going to crash.
Everyone was killed, except him.
He had a bump & a minor slash.
He didn’t know which way to go.
He would keep heading downhill.
His water supply was running low.
For 2 days, he had been going on will.
Then, he heard the river he came upon.
Big rapids, rough, dropping fast.
He got water & tried to follow the river on.
It entered a narrow canyon pass.
He found a narrow ledge he could use.
He proceeded very carefully.
Soon, he came upon a cave. Good news.
The opening was very narrow, you see.
He went in and got the shock of his life.
He had proceeded down pretty far.
What he saw was a shocking sight.
He saw what looked like a little car.
Soon, he saw creatures: reptilian?
Like large upright lizards from afar.
They had a city of maybe a million.
He didn’t wait to see anymore.
He ran out as fast as he could.
Followed the river till he found a shore.
Rigged a raft made out of wood.
Sailed the river to civilization.
Got transportation to an airport.
Finally, he got back to his nation.

He had something big to report
He reported the story of his find.
It didn’t get a good reception.
They thought he had lost his mind.
Only one person took an exception.
A scientist who believed his story.
He was ready to forget it all.
No one would take him seriously.
Then the scientist made his call.
“Tell me more about your find,” curiously.
He told the scientist all he knew.
The scientist got real excited about it.
He said “I know you’re not a fool”
“I couldn’t find proof. It made me sick.”
“I have had a theory about reptilians.”
“ What you have found should do the trick.”
“We will bring back proof worth millions.”
“We? What are you talking about?”
“A trip back to the cave to get proof.”
”Are you nuts? I’m not going!!”, I shout.
“The fame & money will be big loot.”
The scientist said with a pout.
“I will even throw in my share to boot.”
In the end, plans were made to go.
He wondered how he was talked into this.
He thought about being called wacko.
He decided to put an end to this.
They left on the 23rd of March.
Headed for the Amazon jungle.
Most people thought it was just a lark.
They said to have fun though.
They were never heard from again.
The story lives on to this very day.
Were they caught by lizards, or men?
No one could ever really say.

“Wonder World” Goes Broke

“Wonder World” Goes Broke

Hear about “Wonder World” today?
A theme park in a special way.
Similar to the “West World” movie.
Robot oriented, and just a screwy.
There was a ‘Future Park’ to start.
Also there was a ‘Western Park.’
One similar to ‘Jurassic Park’ too.
And a ‘Today’s Park’ just for you.
More could be added later.
These were the demonstrators.
All were controlled by ‘Central.’
A computer room in the entrails.
All robots, be they android or beast,
Were programmed, the very least.
One day the system was hacked.
Hackers took over the ‘Central’ tract.
They demanded a hefty amount.
Or they would forget to count.
They would let the ‘bots’ run amuck.
‘Bots’ could rip out someone’s gut.
Arrogant owners refused to pay.
I feel sorry for all visitors that day.
Gun fighter ‘bots’ shooting it up.
Dino ‘bots’ were running amuck.
Future ‘bots’ were zapping all they saw.
‘Today’s bots’ were the worst of all.
A bloody, gory, disgusting mess.
The cleanup was worse, you can guess.
As the lawsuits continued to pour in,
the theme park folded, not seen again.
The ‘hackers’ were never caught.
They bugged out, likely as not.
Let this be a lesson to all entrepreneurs.
Have it all insured or it will go in the sewer.
