Nightmare Or Vision?

      Nightmare Or Vision?

10,000 maniacs were screaming my name.

I think I might be going insane.

I took a walk on the wild side.

While there I almost died.

You’ve heard of the 7 levels of hell?

Well, let me verbalize & ring your bell.

There may even be a level # 8.

Designed especially for your fate.

All those things you’ve buried deep.

Kept in the dark afraid to seek.

Pigeon holed deep in your mind.

Buried, you hoped, till the end of time.

Locked up tight in the dark recesses of the id.

Only emerging in nightmares when a kid.

If those nightmares return as an adult.

The fabric of your sanity may melt.

The most atrocious offensive things.

Sit in wait to emerge & cause pain.

You’ll run, you’ll scream, you’ll flip your lid.

You’ll be more frightened than when a kid.

Never think you can tempt your fate.

Demons will act. They will not wait.

They will drag you down to the 8th level of hell.

There you will remain to scream and yell.

You may be locked up in a rubber room.

But, your mind tells you ‘IT’ is coming soon.

Tranquilizers just make it like you’re in a fog.

Makes you feel like you’re stuck in a bog.

Demons screaming, the smoke, the fire.

All of them yelling that you’re a liar.

There is no escape as indescribable things appear.

You rip your face and skin in fear.

You’re screaming “let me out” “let me die.”

You feel like ripping out your eyes.

There is no escape. You know this is final.

Judgment has closed. You know why though.

Back when you had the choice.

You didn’t even use your voice.

You turned your back on the only salvation.

You could not resist temptation.

Oh, that you only understood.

You can do nothing that is good.

But, He can , and will for you.

All it takes is to ask Him to.

I made it back when I woke up screaming .

It wasn’t true, I was only dreaming.

But, it sure woke me out of my slumber.

I fell to my knees & prayed like thunder.

Loud and long for God above

to keep me safe in His arms of love———–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

The Desert Inn

      The Desert Inn

On a dark desert highway.

Cool wind in my hair.

I cranked open the chopper.

I didn’t have a care.

Watched the stars up high.

No one was around.

I ran out of ‘poppers’.

I thought I heard a sound.

I pulled over & stopped.

All I heard was the wind.

I thought I heard the coppers.

As I scratched under my chin,

Good thing I ran out of ‘poppers.’

I heard a voice on the wind.

“Welcome to the Desert Inn.”

“What a lovely place.”

“Such a lovely face.”

“Come stay awhile within.”

“Any time of year.”

“You are welcome here.”

I looked all around.

I could not see a thing.

I listened for a sound.

I couldn’t hear a thing.

I started riding down the road.

Soon I saw a shimmering light.

I thought this must be the place.

It turned out I was right.

The Desert Inn; as I was told.

A sign above the door said:

WELCOME- STAY AWHILE

“Can I get myself a bed?”

The night clerk smiled.

“If that’s what you want, sir.”

I told him that it was.

“Can I get a cold beer?”

“I’ll bring one up in awhile.”

“Welcome to the Desert Inn.”

“What a lovely place.”

“Such a lovely face.”

“Come stay awhile within.”

“Any time of year.”

“You are welcome here.”

Again, I looked all around

I could not see a thing.

I listened for a sound.

I couldn’t hear a thing.

I found the room & in I went.

Simple but, cozy.

Nothing to rave about.

Then I decided to mosey.

And have a look about.

I heard laughter from a vent.

In the ‘party room’, below.

a party was going on..

I went to join the show.

I wasn’t gone for too long.

The waitress came.

I ordered a beer.

She said “It is a real shame.”

“We don’t have any beer here.”

I asked the waitress what it was.

“What do you mean?” she said.

“Someone singing about this place.”

“Oh, that is nothing.” she said.

“Ghosts sing about this place.”

“What do you mean?” I said.

“Just past guests who like it here.”

“Past guests who like it here?”

“Well, yes. You can check out anytime.”

“But, You can never leave.”

I shot out of there like a jet bird.

I rode 100 mph to the nearest town.

I told the sheriff what I saw & heard.

He laughed, then frowned.

He sang: “Welcome to the Desert Inn.”

“What a lovely place.”

“Such a lovely face.”

“Come stay awhile within.”

“Any time of year.”

“You are welcome here.”

“Did you look all around son?”

“Did you not see anything?”

“Did you listen for a sound son?”

“Did you not hear a thing?”

“Yes, that is exactly what happened.”

“It is all an urban legend. son.”

“Many people went through what you did.”

“No trace of the place is ever found.”

“We’ll go look when it’s light.”

“You will see what I mean.”

“You can follow me on your bike.”

“We will check out the scene.”

In the morning we went back there.

Not a thing could be found or heard.

He said “I was lucky to be there.”

“Some people didn’t make it out, we heard.”

I had to take him at his word.

I had nothing else to say.

As I rode away I heard a bird.

It seemed to be laughing all the way.———R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Attitude Adjustment Needed

Attitude Adjustment Needed

I’ve never met anyone like you.

You stand out by the things you do.

Your personality would turn off rain.

Seems all you do is want to cause pain.

You must have been burned bad.

This is your defense. It’s very sad.

No one gets close to you.

Even friends don’t have a clue.

You never give anyone a chance.

First they must do the dance.

Jump the hoops you put them through.

In the end they end up a fool.

I’ve never met anyone like you.

You’re behavior, I can’t get used to.

You are the most difficult person ever.

Yet you think you are really clever.

Voted in school most likely to be killed.

That should let you know to chill.

Why so afraid to be a nice person?

All you do is leave people cursing.

You’re doomed to be a loner all your life.

Then you complain about all the strife.

I’ve never met anyone like you.

There is only one thing that will do.

You need an extreme attitude adjustment.

The butt kicking you need won’t be pleasant.

But, hopefully, it will wake you up.

Otherwise, you’ll remain in this rut.

No hope of ever finding reciprocal love.

Except for the love that comes from above.

Thinking Back

      Thinking Back

Ain’t it funny how time slips away.

Before you know it you’re old and gray.

Sliding into the winter of your life.

You hurt in the places where you used to play.

But, your heart’s still in it all the way.

You’ve planned for this time with your wife.

When you were young did you used to say, “When I’m a man will I like the things I do today?”

When all grown up did you stay the same?

I still like to go out of my way to play.

But, some things changed from day to day.

Then there are others that still remain.

No longer a child. Children came my way.

Children get older. They are adults today.

Remember, were getting  older too.

Now they can remember how they used to play.

They can say: “It’s still in the same old way.”

It’s not the same as when they were in school.

They may view things in a different way. “I am just older’ is what they say.

I may be older but, not dead yet.

I remember it all like the other day.

They say one thing, I say “No way!!.”

They say “Would you like to make a bet?”

Never bet against what old guy’s say.

They were not born yesterday.

They know what happened & what did not.

They have a right to what they say.

It comes from experience during their day.

They have fought for everything  they’ve got.

I seem to have gotten a little astray.

But, I do have one thing left to say.

It’s for my wife, who was there too.

If I had to travel along this road till today.

It was sure nice having you with me all the way.

Did You Know?

Did You Know?

Did you know?

The dark side of the moon does not glow.

Did you know?

My heart is all aglow.

Can’t you see.

This all means much to me.

Can’t you see.

There is so much yet to see.

All around.

From dizzying heights to the ground..

All around.

The glow can be found.

Come with me.

We both will go and see.

Come with me.

We will both finally be free.

We can flee.

Flee from all reality.

We can flee.

To a place where we can really see.

Just to know.

Can make the difference in the show.

Just to know.

Will help to understand how time flows.

I want to see.

Am I really me?

I want to see.

Would we really be free?

Let it be.

There is only you and me.

Let it be.

Nothing happens unless you see.————-R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Girl Lears Her Lesson

    Girl Learns Her Lesson

I saw him standing by his car.

He said “Oh, there you are.”

I said “Who are you?”

He said “Your dream come true.”

He had lovely blue eyes.

His smile lit up the skies.

He offered me a ride.

How was I to know he lied?

I won’t tell you what happened first.

But, when I said “No.”, it made him curse.

I’ll never ride with another strange guy.

I won’t fall for all his lies.

I don’t care if he has beautiful eyes.

I don’t care about the car he drives.

I’ll just say the answer is no.

I am sorry, but I have to go.

Another time and another place.

There was another smiling face.

Another fancy car & pickup line.

Pretty face & eyes that said you’re mine.

Offering me another ride.

Acting like he didn’t lie.

He got upset when I said no.

I told him I had to go.

He was a demanding so & so.

So I told him where to go.

I’ll never ride with another strange guy.

I won’t fall for all his lies.

I don’t care if he has beautiful eyes.

I don’t care what car he drives.

I’ll say the answer is no.

I am sorry, but I have to go.

I learned my lesson & I learned it well.

If this is their approach they can go to hell.

I’m not that kind of girl.

I’m not looking for a thrill.

I want a boy who loves me for me.

One who takes his time to get to know me.

He thinks more of feelings than he does sex.

One that won’t make my life a wreck.

A serious minded young man.

Who treats me like I really am.

That way I won’t have to say no.

I will stay and say ‘Way to go.”—————–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

She said “No”

      She Said “No.”

I was walking along some street in town.

There was no particular place I was bound.

Just thinking how different it might have been.

If you would have said ‘yes’ way back then.

I had plans and schemes of what we’d do.

I could make them happen if I had you.

But, you said ‘no’ & our lives went different ways.

Still, I often think about those past days.

I am still here. Stuck in this town.

You’re gone. Nowhere to be found.

I am still single. But, not for lack of trying.

No one measures up to you, I keep sighing.

Somehow I got stuck in the past.

My emotions were shattered, needing a cast.

They haven’t learned to walk again yet.

If they could my life would be set.

I’m a broken man. Stumbling along with no plan.

Searching, but for what? I don’t understand?

A part of me has been ripped away.

I don’t care if it is night or day.

I’ve been this way since you said “No.”

Now, I have no idea where to go.

I walk in the park and see the birds.

I see some lovers having words.

I see kids playing ball & running with a kite.

I saw two teenagers about to have a fight.

It is all like in a dream. Am I here?

I don’t function normally. Isn’t that queer?

No thoughts seem to come clearly.

No, I haven’t been drinking beer, see.

Part of me is missing. It’s been destroyed.

I am not a man, I am just a toy.

They say time heals all wounds.

I hope and pray that healing will come soon.

In the meantime, I walk down a street in town.

I don’t have any idea where I am bound.

Only One Way

      Only One Way

What’s the proper thing to say

when a friend or relative hurts you?

Speaking verbally, it’s not okay.

The pain still hurts through & through.

It hurts because you love them so.

You really don’t want to let them go.

Saying something hurtful to get back

is a defense mechanism. It’s a fact.

To remedy the situation takes strength.

Regardless of what you think.

Swallow your pride for a start.

It is better than being apart.

Apologize, though your heart says no.

There is nowhere else you can go.

You don’t feel you are to blame.

Yet, it is driving you insane.

Words hurt when aimed at you

from a loved one that you knew.

Erase the past and start anew.

It is best for both of you.

Turn it all over to God.

Let Him be the judge. It’s not odd.

He is MUCH wiser than us.

He will leave little to discuss.

He functions on love, so get on board.

Then all will vanish, except for the Lord.—–R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Lavender And Green

Lavender And Green

Lavender and green.

What a pretty scene.

What does it mean?

Lavender and green.

It was in my dream.

Nothing else was seen.

Nothing in between.

Just Lavender and green.

The sky was Lavender.

The trees were green.

You were Lavender.

I was green.

Does it mean

that you were mean?

Jealousy is green.

It doesn’t mean a thing.

Jealousy I didn’t bring.

You were not mean.

It must mean something?

Just call it a dream.

In time, see what it means.———R. W. Johnson—–(2014)

Troubling Days Ahead

      Troubling Days Ahead

There was blood on the leaves.

A body hanging in a white oak tree.

No one around that I could see.

Is this the fate for you and me?

Things are changing in this world.

I watched as my coffee swirled.

Will we be safe another day?

Always watching what we say.

Sabbath keepers should be put to death.

Hang them or stone them, like the rest.

To be safe, we must always hide.

Be meek & mild. Swallow our pride.

God’s end time tragedies keep on coming.

The people are serious. They’re not funning.

Sabbath keepers are the reason why.

To stop the tragedies they must die.

God’s people are hiding in caves.

Or, in jail—– treated like slaves.

Your very own neighbor may turn you in.

Yelling “Your Sabbath keeping is a major sin.”

They sigh and cry for God night and day.

“Save us. Take this nightmare away.”

God has withdrawn all contact from them.

They must stand on their faith & not sin.

Then, when it seems the end is here.

The sky turns bright. God is near.

He saves his people from certain death.

His brightness kills off all the rest.

Is this a dream or a prediction?

I guess it depends on your conviction.

The end time days will not be nice.

Get yourself saved or pay the price.
