Dog Does Good

      Dog Does Good

We were going for a short walk.

We looked up when we heard some talk.

A gang of kids were in the street.

Before we could redirect our feet,

two kids to the side started fighting.

As I watched, two kids were gliding.

They tiptoed by quiet as a mouse.

Then they went into our house.

They were trying to steal our TV.

When our dog came out to see.

He was in the other room.

He growled and jumped the first buffoon.

The other kid was setting down the TV.

While he was saying— “Nice doggie.”

Then he turned and ran real fast.

With the dog nipping at his ass.

He tried to jump the picket fence.

Caught his toe and down he went.

Landed flat upon his face.

Hit so hard he shook the place.

He ran, dripping blood from his mouth.

We went back into the house.

We looked for the other thief.

But, he was pretty fast on his feet.

Out the back door he had run.

The entire day was not much fun.

This neighborhood had gotten bad.

We decided to move, and I was glad.

We moved to a gated community.

They had neighborhood watch, you see.

So we felt much safer and happy there.

Better than we had felt anywhere.

Our big black lab was happy too.

He was happy to be away from that zoo.

No more kids yelling an being brats.

Always whenever he took his naps.

The moral of the story in the end

is that our dog is our best friend.————-R.W. Johnson—–  (2011)

Happiness Unlimited

      Happiness Unlimited

Everyone is born with a sinful nature.

It’s right there in the Bible nomenclature.

There is always a war going on,— always.

Sinful vs spiritual nature on all days.

The “old man of sin” never dies

till you are transformed in the blink of an eye.

When Jesus finally comes again

to finally do away with “the man of sin.”

When you are spiritually reborn,

you can still feel like your torn.

Torn between good and evil.

Except now God can make you feel

victorious; just by trusting in Him.

He can help you overcome any sin.

All your past sins are forgiven.

Then put on Jesus, because He has risen.

We won’t face eternal death .

Our price is paid. Jesus paid the debt.

We are sons & daughters of God.

When we accept him as our God.

Oh, what a wonderful God we have.

Just love Him and always be glad.

By grace we are saved for eternity.

Not by works or anything done by me.

How can you not love a God like this.

I pray you’ll be there to share such bliss!!—-R. W. Johnson—-(2011)

Changes And Differences

      Changes And Differences

Everyday people are trying to be different.

Different clothes, hair color, tattoos, piercings.

I was watching others everywhere I went.

It seems there is no change in their cursing.

They are told to think outside the box.

Also to think outside the bun.

The whole thing is such a crock.

All they really want is to have more fun.

Or, they want to stand out as an individual.

Yelling “Hey world.” “ I am a person of one.”

They don’t want to be tied to a schedule.

Beliefs are different, which can be good.

However, before long, it will mean bad times.

Those with religious beliefs that could

differ will be hunted down for crimes

of the heart, rather than actual wrongs.

Standing for their beliefs could mean death.

They will stand strong singing praise songs.

They would rather die than commit a sin.

They trust totally in their God to save them

from the second death. They will win.

When Jesus comes to earth again.

They’ll be translated without seeing death.

They will be with their God for eternity

Their old life they won’t regret.

They will stand on the endless sea.

The sea of glass before God’s throne.

A great multitude will be there. Also,

those saved through the ages. None alone.

Their new songs of praise will resonate

throughout heaven. Praise the Lord.

It sounds wonderful. I can hardly wait.

Earthly changes & differences now seem bored.

High Flyer

      High Flyer

You shot me down & I fell from the light.

You thought I would fall from sight.

Gone—living in misery

without you near me.

But, I have risen , like the bird of flight,

the Phoenix. I have risen to a new height.

I am soaring among the clouds.

As high as a kite can fly.

My heart is crying out loud.

I can fly. I can fly. I can fly.

Since I met her I am high.

As high as a kit can fly.

I can fly. I can fly. I can fly.

She has your charms, but, not your gile.

She always greets me with a smile.

Be it lengthy or for only awhile.

For time with her, I’d walk a mile.

She has the charms of spring in bloom.

Her lovely eyes just make me swoon.

I am soaring among the clouds.

As high as a kite can fly.

My heart is crying out loud.

I can fly. I can fly. I can fly.

Since I met her I am high.

As high as a kite can fly.

I can fly. I can fly. I can fly.

Like a night bird in its flight.

She showed me how to fly at night.

She taught me how to fly in the day.

To her, it’s all a game to play.

But, she is serious when it comes to love.

That’s why I can soar high above.

I am soaring among the clouds.

As high as a kite can fly.

My heart is crying out loud.

I can fly. I can fly. I can fly.

Since I met her I am high.

As high as a kite can fly.

I can fly. I can fly. I can fly.———————R. W. Johnson—–(2012)

The Way

      The Way

All I ever wanted was to hang around.

I get bored going from town to town.

I’ll just try to make some friends.

If I stay at all, it just depends.

I gotta find somebody that understands.

Someone who will listen to my plans.

I’ve been called kind of wild.

Crazy ideas that come from a child.

All my plans and schemes are simple.

People, come together in love.

Love one another like kin folk.

Love can lead to world peace.

It is the greatest gift received.

If you love and never cease.

Your heart will swell tenfold.

Everywhere I go I spread this news.

All I get in return is taunts and boos.

Does no one believe in love today?

Other than the backseat, front page way?

I mean agape love. That comes from above.

It is the only kind of real love.

If I had a friend to spread the Word.

Soon, it would be all that would be heard.

All my plans and schemes are simple.

People, come together in love.

Love one another like kin folk.

Love can lead to world peace.

It is the greatest gift received.

If you love and never cease.

Your heart will swell tenfold.

Then I realized I have a friend.

One who is with me till the end.

He will help me spread the Word.

Soon, all will have seen and heard.

For my friend will talk thru me.

It will be quite a sight to see.

Hundreds converted in a day.

Praise the Lord, I’ve found The Way.———-R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

Angelic Visions

      Angelic Visions

Going down to the town.

Going just to look around.

A lot that’s old. Nothing new.

That’s till I got a look at you.

My heart pounded real fast.

My foot slipped off the gas.

I almost ran off the road.

My brain was twitching like a toad.

I pulled over to catch my breath.

You were the one. My mind was set.

I began to make great plans.

I would make you mine, if I can.

How to start, I wasn’t sure.

All I knew is you were the cure

for a heart doing cartwheels.

Only a lover knows how it feels.

I looked up and you were gone.

Where did you go? I can’t go on.

You must be close. I’ll look around.

Try as I might, you couldn’t be found.

Were you an angel that I saw?

Or my imagination having a ball?

I doubted then that you were real.

I had to stay on an even keel.

I had a drink & headed for home.

Guess I will remain all alone.——————-R. W. Johnson—–(2012)

Addictive Voices. Sober Choices

Addiction Voices. Sober Choices

Before I lay me down to sleep.

I’m writing down these thoughts to keep.

I have booze that I can drink.

Pills I haven’t thrown down the sink.

I could use and feel quite good.

But, what would happen if I should?

Hooked again with none to blame.

Living with the guilt and shame.

Down the drain with the nasty crap.

Remaining clean and sober is where it’s at.

Being loaded and high can go to hell!!

I’ll stay clean and sober and doing well.——-R. W. Johnson—-(2011)

Remember

      Remember

It says to remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy.

For the Sabbath was made for man and man only.

But, what does this day of rest honor?

On this, have you ever come to ponder?

It is man’s way to give homage to the creator God.

Our creator and redeemer. The only true God.

It’s not a law of do’s and don’ts, as many think.

Many just smile and give you a wink.

It’s a guide to give you rest and meditation.

To think about your creator and all His inspiration.

Become one with the One who loves you so.

Who gave His Son that you may know;

you are His most loved creation.

He wants to make of you a great nation.

He wants you to understand His will.

Listen to His small voice and be still.

All He does is for our growth and protection.

He is the general who will do the inspection.

All will be perfect with His blood to cover

any blemish that Satan thinks to uncover.

So spend one day a week to give thanks.

Be proud to be counted among God’s ranks.

For on the seventh day God rested.

After six days of creation invested.

No other day can honor the creator.

It is the distinguishing mark of our creator.

Let all know you honor Him.

And His redeeming plan from sin.

Keep it holy and stand firm and proud.

You’re not just one of the average crowd.

You are a son or daughter of God.

Redeemed by the blood of the lamb of God.

Be proud to remember and never forget.

The Seventh Day Sabbath is God’s precious gift.

Tell Me Why?

      Tell Me Why?

Sometimes you can be so sweet.

Then you can be just so discreet.

Tell me why?

You tell me “Let’s go see a show.”

Then you say that you have to go.

Tell me why?

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

Every time you go.

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

I have to know.

Often, you tell me that I’m your man.

Then, when I call, you have other plans.

Tell me why?

You say you love having me around.

Next you’re nowhere to be found.

Tell me why?

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

Every time you go.

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

I have to know.

You say to take you at your word.

You tell me not to be so absurd.

I want to know.

Then you’re lovingly sweet.

You sweep me off my feet.

I want to know.

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

Every time you go.

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

I have to know.

Tell me true. Is there another man?

Why won’t you tell me, if you can?

I need to know.

You say to trust you. It’s for the best.

Why can’t you tell me? Why must I guess?

I need to know.

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

Every time you go.

Tell me why?

Tell me why I must cry?

I have to know.

Tell me why?—Tell me, tell me, tell me why??

Transformation

      Transformation

Here is the story of a foul little piglet boy.

When he acted dumb he thought it was coy.

He made noises and burped and farted.

He jumped around and acted retarded.

Other kids didn’t want him around.

Because he was always acting the clown.

This made him worse so he acted about 3.

Oh, what a great baby, was he.

He often got beat up for such behavior.

But, his behavior did not waver.

Till one day he met a girl.

Not just anyone, but one with a curl.

He fell hard and his behavior changed.

From his foul behavior, he refrained.

He acted like a young gentleman.

All stopped thinking he was mental then.

Seems he was decent and so refined,

when he was around others didn’t mind.

The girl with the curls took notice too.

Instead of acting like he belonged in a zoo,

he acted courteous and polite.

Being kind to her was his delight.

So ends the story of the piglet boy.

Who changed his ways and became a joy.—-R. W. Johnson—-(2012)
