Happiness Found

      Happiness Found

I came into town with a back pack on my shoulders

and a pocket full of stories that I just had to tell.

You know I’ve knocked  around a bit

and had my share of small town glories.

It’s time to hit the city

and that crazy carousel.

I’ve been thinking now for so long.

I’m tired of  going nowhere but,

I just keep moving on.

Till you brought your Sunday morning sunshine

Here into my Monday morning rain.

You gave me happiness just one time.

It  keeps on coming back again and again.

You know when your heart is nowhere.

Then you’ve got no place called home.

So you keep on searching for somewhere.

Yet, you’re still just all alone.

It’s time to lay my feet down,

away from Lonely Street.

New adventures are somewhere.

As From day to day I see.

All the people going nowhere.

But, anywhere’s  a better place to be.

Till you brought your Sunday morning sunshine

Here into my Monday morning rain.

You brought me happiness just one time.

It keeps on coming back again and again.

These roads were never my roads

These highways and  the byways.

They were just a way for me

to drift from town to town.

I never thought  I’d find

someone who could love me.

Till finally you were found.

I thought I’d drift forever

In my anguish and my leathers.

Always moving on  but, really nowhere bound.

Till you brought your Sunday morning sunshine

Here into my Monday morning rain.

You gave me happiness just one time.

It keeps on coming back again and again.

The Devil’s Thunder

      The Devil’s Thunder

Humans were placed on earth by aliens.

We are genetically altered Neanderthals.

Thru evolution we became “ today’s men.”

Earth is millions of years old. Changes happen.

Like cavemen evolving from a creature in the ocean..

Science proves it. Religion cannot trap them.

Going down with the Devils thunder.—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

Going with the Devil down under—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

I strongly believe there is life after death.

Be it ghosts, spirits, or a higher plain.

We will have a spirit form like the rest.

We are not sons and daughters of Cain.

It seems to me that God is dead.

The belief in a higher being has died.

People now have it in their head

They will “evolve” to eternal life.

Going down with the Devil’s thunder.—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

Going with the Devil down under.—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

I believe in magic and witchcraft.

Astrology can show your future life.

Magic can put curse or blessing on its path.

It can be a blessing or cause you much strife.

New age religion can save your soul.

Tarot cards can predict what’s coming down.

Devil worship is for those in the know.

To not believe this way makes you a clown.

Going down with the Devil’s thunder.—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

Going with the Devil down under.—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

The Bible is the word of God. The only truth.

If you don’t believe “The Word”, you will be lost .

Belief in any other words is the Devil’s “truth.”

He is the father of lies, which he tells at any cost.

When the Devil is cast out you will be too.

You’ll go down for eternity. You will be lost.

So get your truth from the Bible. It’s only for you.

Then you’ll be saved. Jesus has paid the cost.

Going down with the Devil’s thunder.—-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

Going with the Devil down under. —-Going down.

Give me water.—-Give me water.

Going down.—-Going down.—-Going down.

End Of My Rambling Ways

      End Of My Rambling Ways

I’ve always been a wayfaring wanderer.

Rambling back and forth across this land.

I’ve never wanted to settle down.

I’m just a fun loving traveling man.

Then I met that little gal.

Way down in Abilene.

She made my heart skip a beat.

As pretty as a beauty queen.

She looked my way and I was hooked.

I knew my rambling days were through.

But, it was more than just her looks.

My mama didn’t raise no fool.

She had the charms and manners of class.

Yet, she could talk to me like an average Joe.

She was intelligent and well versed.

Yet, never made me feel stupid or low.

I stayed around and we dated some.

We fit together like a hand in a glove.

I knew that I had found my soul mate.

Friends said, go ahead and ask her, with a shove.

I proposed and the rest is history.

She is my woman. She is my life.

I gave up my rambling ways.

Just to make this woman my wife.————-R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

Contemplation

      Contemplation

Come what may, I just never know.

Times may come and they may go.

Good things can happen to one another.

Be it brothers, sisters, or just lovers.

Time will pass and the story will change.

But, the ending always seems the same.

I never seem to know enough.

Makes any progress really tough.

I try to keep on keeping on.

Till late at night or early dawn.

I toss and turn within the satin.

Always wondering what did happen?

Could I somehow have made it better?

Maybe I could have sent a letter.

Poor out my heart in weeping sobs.

Eat all the corn and spit out the cobs.

But, still the situation is tough.

I always feel I don’t know enough.

Life will go on and seasons change.

But, certain things remain the same.

A shattered heart takes years to heal.

Depending on who’s behind the wheel.

Still, it haunts me like a bad dream.

I wonder if I’ll ever glean

enough knowledge to finally say.

I think I know enough today.——————-R. W. Johnson—-(2012)

Ribs

      Ribs

My sweet wife sent me downtown for some ribs.

She said to go ahead and she’d watch the kids.

When I arrived there were cars everywhere.

There was absolutely not a  space to spare.

I began to wonder what the hell was going on.

I almost had to park up on someone’s lawn.

I finally found a spot some distance away.

Then started hoofing it all the way.

It was the annual Blues, Brews, and Barbeque.

There was people everywhere drinking their brew.

Lines were long and not moving fast.

I found my favorite rib booth at last.

After considerable time, I placed my order.

The lady asked me if I had a quarter?

It was 22 dollars to go, without the bib.

That was for a full rack of St. Lewis ribs.

I left with the ribs but, I didn’t get far.

I bumped into people which made me jar.

I came close to dropping the ribs.

One guy asked me if they were his.

Eventually I made it back to my car.

Fortunately I didn’t have to drive too far.

I arrived home safely with the ribs.

I gave them to the wife and kids.

Then it hit me like a thunderbolt.

The thought made me feel like a dope.

I got ribs for all, you see.

But, I didn’t get any ribs for me————R. W. Johnson———(2011)

Thoughts On A Bad Day

      Thoughts On A Bad Day

I’m wearing my emotions on my sleeve.

Gee, I hope that I don’t sneeze.

Life goes on, often, without hope.

A tsunami will probably sink the boat.

The boat that all humans are in.

Their just reward for a life of sin.

I only live from day to day.

I sound depressed I heard you say.

The world has taken a turn for the worst.

But, I have the answer. It’s not a curse.

Genocide by zero reproduction——

For 50 years with no disruption.

All will then be quiet on the western front.

The world will no longer be in a funk.

Then we can start over again.

Test tube babies are not a sin?

Form the world after our own image.

Tower of Babel will be our linage.

Will we then be destroyed from God above?

Maybe—- all we really need is love.———-R. W. Johnson—–(2011)

Coming To Reason

      Coming To Reason

Yesterday was a day that was.

Today is a day for us.

Tomorrow is the sum of it all.

Depending on if you stand or fall.

We have gone  and we have come.

We have set them on the run.

We have dug deep for the truth.

We did it all in our youth.

Baby, stay.—Close your eyes and pray.

This is our day to stand.—- To stay.

Trouble can find you wherever you go.

Trouble isn’t fast and trouble isn’t slow.

So, stay baby, stay.—-Stay.

Pray baby, pray.—-Pray!!

We have lived in a small town.

It was small, but, it was our town.

Later on, we moved around.

But, our hearts were in the small town.

We were caught between now and then.

Yesterday and today, we have been.

Tomorrow is the sum of it all

If we don’t pray then we will fall.

Baby, stay.—Close your eyes and pray.

This is our day to stand.—- To stay.

Trouble will find you wherever you go.

Trouble isn’t fast and trouble isn’t slow.

So, stay baby, stay.—-Stay.

Pray baby, Pray.—-Pray!!

The Final Struggle

      The Final Struggle

In the last days of this old earth,

a time of trouble like has never

been will  spread it’s curse.

The people of God will weather

A hardship to keep God first.

The power of God will slowly

be withdrawn from the earth.

Those righteous left alive fully

realize what they are worth.

They are sealed in their foreheads.

Death before sin,— which is worse.

They stand firm, their course set.

Like Job, before denying God, he would die first.

Their food and water is sure.

But, like Jesus on the cross,

when he cried out “My God,

My God. Why have you forsaken me?”

When God withdraws they feel the loss.

But, they stand firm. They watch to see

Jesus coming in the sky with the host

of heaven surrounding Him. They

will sing a new song that will boast.

“Here is our God.” “ We are saved.”

“He is whom we have waited for.”

Those that are dead will raise first.

Then those alive will ascend for

translation not seeing death’s curse.

O praise the Lord. No greater day

can there be. Loved ones meet

hugging each other in joy and say

“Praise the Lord, our soul to keep.”————-R. W. Johnson—-2012)

Destined For Eternity

      Destined For Eternity

She’s all alone on a stormy night.

He’s in bed, not feeling right.

She drives her car down to the mall.

He gets up and makes a call.

She sits in her car for awhile.

Time for dinner, he thinks with a smile.

He gets dressed and goes to the mall.

She trips on the curb, about to fall.

He catches her and helps her stand.

So starts a romance as he takes her hand.

She joins him for dinner They talk a lot.

Both of them seem glued to their spot.

They walk around then take in a movie.

Both of them feel it’s really groovy

When they leave they make a date.

She says “Be on time & don’t be late.”

After four months of dating, they finally bond.

She moves in and they find they are fond

of pretty much the same things.

The rightness of it really rings.

In time he asks the question.

She accepts without exception.

Many years later, in their golden years,

they think back and reflect with tears.

She was kept from falling off the curb.

But, fell into his life without a word.

They had a family and happy times.

They remained in love. A love that binned.

Neither thought they would find one another.

They became a husband a wife a dad & a mother.

Now, they look forward to eternity.

Just him and her and God makes three.——R. W. Johnson—-(2011)

“Pookey”

      “Pookey”

Oh, Pookey—you’re the most.

Your hard to find.

Just like a ghost.

You come and go.

just like the wind.

I never know

when you’ll be in.

Can you take me

wherever you go.

So that I’ll always be

part of your show.

From the highest mountains

to the deepest seas.

To life’s bubbling fountains.

Just you and me.

We’ll slide down a rainbow.

We’ll dance in fairy dust.

We’ll have a sparkling  glow

like the sun at dawn or dusk.

We’ll get lost in our magical world.

Riding dragons and having thrills.

Morning will find me curled up

In my bed . But,— where will you be??——-R. W. Johnson—–(2011)
