Like a sack of potatoes lying in the sun.<\/p>\n

I am soaking up rays, just having fun.<\/p>\n

I am building up my vitamin D.<\/p>\n

Not a single fear of skin cancer, you see.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I awake with a start & look around.<\/p>\n

All is dark. The sun has gone down.<\/p>\n

What is that in the shadows I see?<\/p>\n

Is my mind is playing tricks on me?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It looks like a ghost, but it\u2019s not moving.<\/p>\n

Then, it starts dancing, \u00a0really grooving.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hopping and bopping and getting it on.<\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s doing the \u2018robot\u2019 on the lawn.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It starts to \u2018moon walk\u2019 as my eyes adjust.<\/p>\n

Then I can see clearer. What the heck??<\/p>\n

It is my girlfriend who is the groovy ghost.<\/p>\n

She is, by far, the ghost with the most.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cHey!!\u201d \u201c What are you doing here?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re late for our date\u201d she sneered.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?\u00a0 What time is it? I fell asleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is obvious you were counting sheep.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI thought you were a ghost. I was losing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cOh, be real and use your wit\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me shower, shit, shine, and shave.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cHurry it up or we will be late.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I spiffed up and in a bit, off we went.<\/p>\n

We had plans. I will give you a hint.<\/p>\n

It has a slot—- and it goes like hell.<\/p>\n

Does \u201cSlot Car Races\u201d \u00a0ring a bell?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She had her car and I had mine.<\/p>\n

Mine was faster. I beat her every time.<\/p>\n

Yet, she still liked the excitement.<\/p>\n

The race was on without any enticement.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She kicked butt on all the female racers.<\/p>\n

Most guys only saw a trace of her.<\/p>\n

I barely squeezed past on the last turn.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201dThat\u2019s o.k. I have a lot to learn.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A fun night for us overall.<\/p>\n

I would call the night a draw.<\/p>\n

We made an ice cream stop after that.<\/p>\n

Then headed home in nothing flat.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are you speeding?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n

I said \u201cOops, my foot stuck on the gas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once home, we cuddled for awhile.<\/p>\n

Then, she said goodnight with a smile.<\/p>\n

What a good day it turned out to be.<\/p>\n

I think tomorrow I will see.<\/p>\n

Start with a nap in the sun.<\/p>\n
