\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shelter From The Storm<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n When I first met you, I was in shock.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Caught between a rock & a hard spot.<\/strong><\/p>\n You looked like you\u2019d been through the mill.<\/strong><\/p>\n Like you\u2019d subbed for horses & pulled the till.<\/strong><\/p>\n Spent the last month under the lash.<\/strong><\/p>\n You were down & out & about to crash.<\/strong><\/p>\n How much abuse can one person take?<\/strong><\/p>\n Were you put on an ant hill & tied to a stake?<\/strong><\/p>\n You were beaten & kicked around a lot.<\/strong><\/p>\n There is more dripping from your nose than snot.<\/strong><\/p>\n You were \u2018gun shy\u2019 with good reason.<\/strong><\/p>\n Some male did this to you without ceasing.<\/strong><\/p>\n I have no idea how you ever got away.<\/strong><\/p>\n I am sure he was enraged that day.<\/strong><\/p>\n It couldn\u2019t have been too long ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n Your bruises have not yellowed so.<\/strong><\/p>\n They are still black and blue.<\/strong><\/p>\n I see the sadness & fear that radiates from you.<\/strong><\/p>\n I am not here to hurt you in any way.<\/strong><\/p>\n I detest the games he made you play.<\/strong><\/p>\n He should be locked away for good.<\/strong><\/p>\n I don\u2019t care if he came from the hood.<\/strong><\/p>\n Muslims don\u2019t treat women this badly, it\u2019s sad.<\/strong><\/p>\n You\u2019re alive,— for this,— you can be glad.<\/strong><\/p>\n You have come to the right place.<\/strong><\/p>\n This battered women\u2019s shelter is safe.<\/strong><\/p>\n We will protect you at all cost.<\/strong><\/p>\n Get you settled so you won\u2019t be lost.<\/strong><\/p>\n Provide for you in every way.<\/strong><\/p>\n Till you can move on from this horrible day.<\/strong><\/p>\n All men are not the hurting kind.<\/strong><\/p>\n Most would cherish you for all time.<\/strong><\/p>\n They would make you feel loved.<\/strong><\/p>\n Treat you with tender gloves.<\/strong><\/p>\n Set you up on a pedestal tall.<\/strong><\/p>\n Worship you like an angel on call.<\/strong><\/p>\n Treat you like the very best.<\/strong><\/p>\n Just trust, that day is coming yet.——————R.
