Everything that you do.<\/p>\n

Makes you better every day.<\/p>\n

Someone like me.<\/p>\n

Loves the darkness & the night.<\/p>\n

Everything that I see<\/p>\n

makes me stay out of the light.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Then came the day.<\/p>\n

Our paths crossed briefly.<\/p>\n

Why you weren\u2019t repelled, I couldn\u2019t say.<\/p>\n

I was shocked, completely.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I stay to myself.<\/p>\n

I only go out at night.<\/p>\n

I have very little wealth.<\/p>\n

Crowds make me uptight.<\/p>\n

Someone like you.<\/p>\n

Stands out in a crowd.<\/p>\n

People stick like glue.<\/p>\n

Being near you makes them proud.<\/p>\n

I am average in every way.<\/p>\n

There is nothing worth a second look.<\/p>\n

People see me & have little to say.<\/p>\n

Some even worry I may be a crook.<\/p>\n

You made my day.<\/p>\n

When you asked for my help.<\/p>\n

O.k. was all I could say.<\/p>\n

When you asked as you knelt.<\/p>\n

I would carry your luggage well.<\/p>\n

I could see it was heavy for you.<\/p>\n

Just a couple of blocks to the hotel.<\/p>\n

You would be so thankful if I do.<\/p>\n

You offered to pay me.<\/p>\n

I said no, it was an honor.<\/p>\n

A real gentleman, I see.<\/p>\n

My face was red as I floundered.<\/p>\n

Are you blushing she smiled.<\/p>\n

Sorry, I am usually called worse.<\/p>\n

For heaven\u2019s sake, why? Was she in denial?<\/p>\n

I am shy & a loner, a real curse.<\/p>\n

You seem really special to me.<\/p>\n

What?? Why would you say that.<\/p>\n

You seem kind, courteous, and free.<\/p>\n

Free? You mean not like a rat in a trap?<\/p>\n

She laughed at that. It was beautiful.<\/p>\n

It sounded like rain dripping on\u00a0 a rainbow.<\/p>\n

Such a beautiful laugh I said without ridicule.<\/p>\n

Why thank you, she smiled. Her voice remained low.<\/p>\n

She asked my name & told me hers.<\/p>\n

The angels must have named you.<\/p>\n

Why is that? she referred.<\/p>\n

A beautiful name to match your looks, as they do.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She turned red now, to my surprise.<\/p>\n

Are you blushing I asked?<\/p>\n

I guess I am . your compliments are not disguised.<\/p>\n

How could they be?, you are a super catch.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She grabbed my arm then and held on tight.<\/p>\n

We walked to the hotel talking in whispers.<\/p>\n

She said she would like diner with me tonight.<\/p>\n

I stammered yes & could hardly control my jitters.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Someone like you.<\/p>\n

Has made a totally different me.<\/p>\n

I am in heaven with all I do.<\/p>\n

For she has set me free.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My life will never be the same.<\/p>\n

She saw in me something I never knew was there.<\/p>\n

Yet, she agreed to take my last name.<\/p>\n
