The dog and the butterfly.<\/p>\n

A song by Heart was my reply.<\/p>\n

But, look again with your inner eye.<\/p>\n

See the dog chase the butterfly.<\/p>\n

See the dog lie down to rest.<\/p>\n

See the butterfly land on his nose in jest.<\/p>\n

The dog looks cross-eyed at this sight.<\/p>\n

And then the butterfly takes flight.<\/p>\n

The dog barks, tail wagging in joy.<\/p>\n

The butterfly is more than just a toy.<\/p>\n

The dog would never harm the delicate thing.<\/p>\n

He wouldn\u2019t even touch it\u2019s pretty wing.<\/p>\n

He just enjoys chasing it around.<\/p>\n

A better friend would be hard found.<\/p>\n

Then I thought of you and I.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m like that dog cause you do fly.<\/p>\n

You flutter around here and there.<\/p>\n

I am chasing you everywhere.<\/p>\n

The bond between the dog and butterfly<\/p>\n

may be stronger than between you and I.<\/p>\n

But, despite it all I enjoy the chase.<\/p>\n

I love to look upon your lovely face.<\/p>\n

I understand the dog much better now.<\/p>\n

I wag my imaginary tail and say bow-wow.<\/p>\n

You tell me I am in a world of my own.<\/p>\n

I think you may be right as I call on the phone.<\/p>\n

I ask you what your up to today.<\/p>\n
