I live in a one horse cowboy town.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Why is it called a \u2018one horse\u2019 town?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The saloon rail has room for one horse is all.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Livery Stable only has one stall. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet, it is a fair sized town.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lots of people live close around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

One day a drifter came into town.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Got off his horse and looked around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He went into the only saloon.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He ordered a drink. It was just before noon.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He sat and drank for awhile. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I rarely saw him crack a smile.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, another \u2018gun slinger\u2019 came in.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He looked around. He didn\u2019t grin.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He saw the drifter & walked over.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He pulled up a stool. He looked bolder.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He said \u201cDid you think you could hide away?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The drifter didn\u2019t have a thing to say.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He then said \u201cYou can run, but you can\u2019t hide.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The drifter just looked him in the eye.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Were going to find out if you\u2019re the best.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The drifter slowly opened his vest.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI am not wearing a gun.\u201d <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThen, you had better get yourself one.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t I will gun you down.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThen tell everyone I\u2019m the fastest around.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cYou only have one chance to live.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFace me in a fair gunfight, or look like a sieve.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The drifter slowly got to his feet.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then he walked into the street.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He went to his saddlebags and got a gun.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He then proceeded to strap it on. Not for fun.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He walked into the street with the sun at his back.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The gun slinger said \u201cYou\u2019re a dead man. It\u2019s a fact\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The gun slinger moved and faced him in the street.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Neither said a thing as they spread their feet.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, the gun slinger made his move.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He was like greased lightning. Don\u2019t be fooled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, he had barely started his draw<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

when a bullet struck him in the jaw.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

His gun hadn\u2019t quite yet cleared his holster.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The drifter was not any kind of boaster.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He turned and took off his gun.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Put it back in his saddlebag. He was done.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He mounted his horse and rode out of town.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Left the town folk standing around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They buried the gun slinger in an unmarked grave.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone knew how he had behaved.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They felt the drifter had every right.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He was the fastest thing in sight.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet, no one knew his name.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though, just the same.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The rumors spread of a man with no name.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He had a draw so fast, it was insane.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The drifter was never heard from again.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Seems he wanted it that way, they said with a grin.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
