\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The E-Mail Routine<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Waiting for an E-Mail from you.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n How long till you shoot one through?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A little antiquated, to be sure.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It is the way things always were.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I could chat with you on Facebook.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I could take a second look.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Check my phone for a text.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n See if any calls came in, next.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n But, the way it always is.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n An E-Mail saying: This one is his.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I fight the ad\u2019s to search for it.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I will search & never quit.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It is \u2018old fashioned\u2019 to be sure.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A way not used much, as it were.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Still it is faster than a letter.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Maybe archaic times were better.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It gave you something to look forward to.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Yet, a letter, sent from me to you.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Would take forever to be delivered.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n That idea has really withered.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Not to mention the cost of stamps.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n it would cost my shirt and pants.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n No, an E-Mail is fine for now.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n If I only receive one, somehow.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Sometimes they are like a small book.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Other times, read, with one quick look.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n No matter how short or how long.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It lets me know I still belong.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Belong on your long list of friends.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Ones you write to without depends.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It doesn\u2019t depend on if I write you first.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n You will still write. It\u2019s like a curse.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n But, it is a blessing for me.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Because I finally hear from you, you see.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n That gives me much pleasure and joy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Better than getting a brand new toy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Then I will set right down.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Peck out an answer then turn around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Send it on its way first.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Before going to quench my thirst.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Next day there I am.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Waiting for an E-Mail again.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n So it goes each and every day.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It leaves me little time to play.—R.
