\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Watchers<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I was walking down a country road.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Enjoying the view, resting my load.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Then, I looked up in the sky.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A UFO caught my eye.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It came slowly down.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Then hovered, just off the ground.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I went over for a closer look.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I heard a rumble & the ground shook.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A blue light came down & covered me.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Next, I was in the air above the trees.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I was taken up inside the ship.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Next I knew, I was in, like a slip.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Three big eyed creatures surrounded me.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Big head, no ears, & a slit of a mouth, you see.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They were short, about three feet tall.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They spoke inside my head. What gall.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Mental telepathy, it seemed to be.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They wanted to know all about me.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I wanted to know about them to.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n There was nothing I could do.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n After awhile, I was communicating well.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They understood all, from what I could tell.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They said they have observed our race for a millennium.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They wondered why we couldn\u2019t get it in our craniums.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A pretense for violence is wrong.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n We could all end up dead and totally gone.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Self annihilation, \u00a0they think it is called.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I asked them about their cattle mutilations?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They said it was another alien nation.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n There is more than us who are watchers.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I said too bad they weren\u2019t helpful, like doctors.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n A treaty in place prevents direct intervention.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Although, this did not reduce the tension.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I wondered what was the sense of it all?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Most races wanted earth to answer the call.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n What call are you referring to?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The call to join the universal community pool.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n To be one race among the many others.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n That stretch across the galaxies, one to another.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Many, many planets have races that are coming of age.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n They will soon be ready to join the universal stage.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n To obtain this we must stop warring with our fellow man.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n At least, that is the general plan.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n All races seem to reach a point in their growth<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n where they will self destruct or overcome & promote<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n the wellbeing of everyone and all others.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Think of everyone as a sister or brother.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Then, they are ready to leave their earth.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n To expand into space, for what it is worth.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n To become part of the universal community.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n To live in peace and harmony.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n That final step is up to us <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Does the human race have the stuff?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n All we can do is wait and see.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The \u2018watchers\u2019 hope we will learn to be free.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n ————————————————————R.
