He led a life like Dorian Gray.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

His tomorrows were his today.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no portrait of him.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

His long life was about to begin.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He had lived through centuries.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

His date of birth none would believe.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He had lived to see it all.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Roman beginning & the fall.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The middle ages, he lived through.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The time of enlightenment, he saw too.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He helped start the industrial age.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, he never took center stage.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He always stayed out of the lime light.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Too much attention made him uptight.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There were too many questions to answer.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is true,—– he was a great dancer.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He was good at a plethora of things.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of these, he didn\u2019t want seen.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It would draw attention to him.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

So, often, he made sure he didn\u2019t win.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He was an immortal, that much he knew.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He never knew another till he met you.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He had his suspicions, that much was true.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

When he knew for sure, he wasn\u2019t cruel.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was 200 years later, yet he knew her.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was his only past love. He knew for sure.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He could never forget her look, her smell.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

She knew immediately it was him as well.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Quick explanations cleared the air.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Before it was more than either could bare.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

She knew of no other immortal\u00a0 either.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Neither could guess how long they would be here.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Their 2nd meeting happened in the 17th<\/sup> century.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They have never separated since this entry.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

She had been around almost as long as him.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet, they both remained 25 since who knows when.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They are still together today, you know.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They move & start over every 25 years or so.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is all so, to others, \u00a0it won\u2019t show.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They are immortal, as far as they know.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They have had kids along the way.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Guess what? They are still here today.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Immortality is catching on, it seems.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet, the kids also, keep a low scene.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

None of them know if they are alone.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

None knew why immortality is their own.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The kids decided to make it their work.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They became researchers into the quirk.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They haven\u2019t found any answers yet.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, there is a lot more info they can get.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sometimes, it feels like they are close.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, nothing yet, of which they can boast.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet, they live on year after year.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They never regret, nor have any fear.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

They would like all to be like them.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

That is one he would be happy to win.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
