Sitting by the road of life<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

as the parade goes marching by.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He is carrying a load of strife<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

as he sits and wonders why?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The old man sits and wonders<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

where his life has gone.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sure, he made a few blunders<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

as he lived his life, so long.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Happiness is not the final result.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was often fun along the way.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He could have joined the revolt.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

When they invited him to stay.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dead and gone, they all are now.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He would be to if he had joined in.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He lived by the sweat of his brow.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He did his best to never sin.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, now he has little to show<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

for his life of virtue & purity.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

What he lacked, he didn\u2019t know?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He knew he had little surety.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In his mind he had gone astray.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t know when it happened.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t know the answer anyway.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He just knew it was a crappy end.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He outlived all his family<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Why,—- he hadn\u2019t a clue.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t because he was more manly.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, he was really feeling blue.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, a voice spoke to him.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was that small, quiet voice.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI can set you free. Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTurn to me. You have a choice.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He fell on his face & praised the Lord.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI am unworthy!!\u201d he cried in agony.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201c I have for you a final reward.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBe at peace & let it be.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The old man surrendered his will.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He gave all to the Lord as he was. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, he lay down & became very still.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lord had taken him to live above.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
