{"id":1585,"date":"2015-09-02T15:48:27","date_gmt":"2015-09-02T23:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wordsmithwisdom.com\/?p=1585"},"modified":"2015-09-02T15:48:27","modified_gmt":"2015-09-02T23:48:27","slug":"solitary-man-no-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wordsmithwisdom.com\/?p=1585","title":{"rendered":"Solitary Man No More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Solitary Man No More<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Nobody knew where the money came from.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>It was enough to cover all of his fun.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He avoided other people\u2019s curious looks.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Writing poems &amp; reading exciting books <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>carried him deep into each night.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He would start over again when it was light.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He was isolated. He lived alone.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>In public, his face was rarely shown.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He said he was his own best friend.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>His poems &amp; his reading he would defend.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He had an imagination that knew no limits.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He could create a whole new world in minutes.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He didn\u2019t watch TV or hear a radio.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Newspapers &amp; magazines were a no no.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sometimes he relaxed with music.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Not that often, but he liked the acoustics.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>His poems reflected his isolation &amp; life.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He would bring out how to avoid all strife.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He was called eccentric and a little odd.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He had his own thoughts &amp; views of God.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He was not into penitence, or any such thing.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A monk\u2019s celibate life wasn\u2019t his to bring.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Yet, he never dealt with the opposite sex.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A slightly risqu\u00e9\u2019 poem was as close as it gets.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>His books gave him ideas for new poems.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Read only by him. He accepted no coins.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He didn\u2019t publish, sell or put them on the internet.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>They would probably be found upon his death.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>One day he wrote a poem of his life.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He thought: \u2018Wait, this doesn\u2019t seem right.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He began to see just how eccentric he was.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He wondered why he was like this? Because??<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He couldn\u2019t come up with a good reason.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He decided to go out. It was the season.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Of course, he went to the library.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He soon met a sweet girl he would finally marry.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>How that came about is another story.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>But, I can assure you, it wasn\u2019t boring.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>She liked all the things he liked to.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>She was an introvert. He said \u201cI like that about you.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>They both loved poetry. She wrote some too.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>She said \u201cI love books, but mostly I love you..\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Life went on, but now there were two.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>His poetry reflected a different point of view.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Life was good from all he could see.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>He even wished the same for you and me.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;R.
