When we were kids we would joke around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Who was the bravest kid in town?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There was a haunted house on a hill.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I think it might be there still.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We would double dog dare each other.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Spend the night, but go with another.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally, \u00a0the night came along.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We all agreed we would be strong.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We agreed to spend the night there.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We would all go together and share.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

If there were ghosts we would be brave.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Or, so we thought, as we went on our way.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We brought all we thought we would need.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Be prepared before we would proceed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The faded front door was unlocked.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I stepped through, \u00a0carrying my cot.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We decided where we would sleep.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We picked the living room cause it was neat.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dust covered everything around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Furniture was covered with sheets and bound.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We decided we would explore first.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t want to feel we were cursed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We checked around downstairs. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then we went slowly upstairs.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Once there we heard footsteps below.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We ran back down to catch the show.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, there was no one there.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Not even any footprints anywhere.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Except ours, of course, was all there was.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We were a little shaken up—–because.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The door was still locked from within.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no way for anyone to get in.<\/p>\n

We shook our heads & went back up.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We were hoping we would have some luck.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, at the end of the hall, chains rattled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s what we thought. We were baffled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Quiet as can be we went down the hall.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It sounded like it was coming from the wall.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, we heard some scary laughter.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We saw no one, but it didn\u2019t matter.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We ran like hell back down stairs.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of us forgot some stuff, but we didn\u2019t care.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As fast as we could, we got out of there.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We wouldn\u2019t admit that place gave us a scare.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

After that, we didn\u2019t make anymore dares.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
