Just before I turn out the light to sleep,

\nI turn out the light and think back.
\nA year ago, it was only me in this shack.<\/p>\n
I had been alone for many a year.
\nWhen I met you, it brought on fear.
\nBut, you quickly became part of my life.
\nThere was no fear or strife.<\/p>\n
It was like it had always been.
\nYou were much more than a friend.
\nBut, I remember, I was a loner for years.
\nBeing with you has brought me to tears.<\/p>\n
You. You have changed my life.
\nYou. You have taken away the strife.
\nYou took away the lonely nights.
\nYou made me feel like I am somebody.
\nAfter years of being a nobody.
\nYou. You have recreated my life.
\nYou. You did it by becoming my wife.<\/p>\n
After years of being alone.
\nI had made that life my home.
\nNo one found me desirable before.
\nMost thought of me as a bore.<\/p>\n
I would kid about being a bachelor.
\nWhen I wanted to be a match for her.
\nBut, it never seemed to go my way.
\nI finally said \u2018 let things go as they may.\u2019<\/p>\n
Years rolled by. I expected no change.
\nEach day things remained the same.
\nThen,—- Came the day I met you.
\nIt wasn\u2019t planned, but it came true.<\/p>\n
