A Better Way<\/p>\n
The world today is such a mess.
\nIt was all predicted, I guess.
\nThe Bible has warned of such a time.
\nI can\u2019t claim this time as mine.
\nI grew up in the decade of the 50\u2019s.
\nIt was even better than the 60\u2019s.
\nNot a lot of money to go around.
\nBut, things were cheap in town.
\nIt was a peaceful time, for sure.
\nNo social unrest, as it were.
\nA country setting was my life.
\nHere you seldom saw a fight.
\nWe rode bikes to get around.
\nIt was good exercise, I have found.
\nWith several friends and my dog.
\nFresh, clean air, above the fog.
\nOutside fun all the time.
\nNo computers to occupy our mind.
\nRadio, then later B & W TV.
\nThat was entertainment to me.
\nReligion was a big part of life.
\nThings were simpler. Way less strife.
\nI would love to go back again.
\nBut, that can\u2019t be, my friend.
\nJust take in stride what I say.
\nAt one time, there was a better way.
\nMaybe there can be again.
\nIt depends on how all this ends.<\/p>\n
