I got $80 and change in my pocket.
\nI will soon be outta here, like a rocket.
\nI will hit the road & just knock around.
\nI have no idea just where I am bound.
\nI check my phone. I have a message.
\nI am surprised. It is from Jessie.
\nShe says she wants to see me.
\nThings had never gotten that far, you see.
\nI was interested, but she wasn\u2019t sure.
\nShe mainly wanted to keep things pure.
\nNow, this puts me in a bind.
\nDo I go and leave her behind?
\nOr, do I stick around and answer her?
\nI have no idea what would occur?
\nI finally think: I have nothing in mind.
\nI will return her message this time.
\nI call to ask her what\u2019s up?
\nShe won\u2019t answer, would be my luck.
\nShe acted surprised & relieved too.
\nBut, said \u201cI wanted to meet with you.\u201d
\n\u201cI have something I want to say.\u201d
\n\u201cIt would be better if it was today.\u201d
\nI said \u201cO.K., I\u2019ll be right over.\u201d
\nShe lived across town on Dover.
\nI was there in about 10 minutes.
\nShe came out to meet me with finesse.
\nShe hopped in\u00a0and snuggled close.
\nSaid she missed me more than most.
\nSaid she was \u2018involved\u2019 in the past.
\nBut, all that was behind her, at last.
\nShe felt she wasn\u2019t being fair to me.
\nShe did really like me, as I should now see.
\nI was surprised to hear all this.
\nBut, I was glad I was here to enjoy the bliss.
\nShe said she hoped I wouldn\u2019t put her down.
\nI guess you know I\u00a0stayed around.<\/p>\n
