You met me when my life was down.
\nYou asked me why I wore a frown.
\nI guess I didn\u2019t make my answer clear.
\nYou said there was nothing for me to fear.<\/p>\n
You hung around without being asked.
\nYou started to ask me about my past.
\nI didn\u2019t want to tell you a thing.
\nI didn\u2019t know what such action could bring.<\/p>\n
Little by little you wore me down.
\nLittle by little I lost my frown.
\nYou really seemed to care.
\nI was feeling better before I was aware.<\/p>\n
I finally asked you: \u201cWhy waste your time?\u201d
\nIt wasn\u2019t like you were really mine.
\nYou said: \u201cI care because I like you a lot.\u201d
\nI felt my stomach tighten into a knot.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one has ever said that to me.\u201d
\n\u201cMy life is a mess, as you can see.\u201d
\n\u201cBut, it doesn\u2019t have to stay that way.\u201d
\n\u201cSet your emotions aside for a rainy day.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI would need help to do such a thing.\u201d
\n\u201cThere is no magical song to sing.\u201d
\n\u201cNo way to turn my life around.\u201d
\n\u201cNo pot of gold that I have found.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI can help you find the way.\u201d
\n\u201cI will help you every day.\u201d
\n\u201cUntil the day your on the right track.\u201d
\n\u201cI will always have your back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy would you even offer such a thing?\u201d
\n\u201cIs there an ulterior motive that you bring?\u201d
\n\u201cNot long ago, I was just like you.\u201d
\n\u201cSomeone told me what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI found my way out of that black hole.\u201d
\n\u201cThanks to help from a loving soul.\u201d

So began my rehabilitation, of sorts.
\nShe was true to her word, I can report.
\nI remember she said I would know what to do.
