Those Childhood Days<\/p>\n
I keep thinking back a long, long time ago.
\nWhere in the world does all the time go?
\nI am thinking back when we were kids.
\nLife was simple. No one flipped their lids.
\nWe would dream about being older.
\nWe would be bigger & much more bolder.
\nWe figured we wouldn\u2019t hate girls then.
\nWe didn\u2019t know how or why or even when.
\nWe had too much fun building forts.
\nExploring & catching frogs with warts.
\nShooting targets with our sling shots.
\nGetting praise for the targets we got.
\nRiding bikes all over the place.
\nSometimes, we would even have a race.
\nWe had so many things to do.
\nWe always had some gum to chew.
\nRelationships were not on our mind.
\nThey would be eventually, given time.
\nBut, then, we were too busy being boys.
\nMaking the most of all our toys.
\nWe played a lot of games & things.
\nNo worries what each day would bring.
\nSomewhere along the way we got older.
\nWe got bigger & we got bolder.
\nGirls played a part in our lives.
\nIf she was \u2018hot\u2019 we gave it a try.
\nSoon, emotions became a major thing.
\nMany other things puberty would bring.
\nIt was a radical change to become a man.
\nYet, childhood had its place in the land.
\nWithout it I wouldn\u2019t be who I am.
\nIt has made me, overall, a better man.<\/p>\n
