A Chaperone Through Life<\/p>\n
I went to a party on the back streets of L.A.
\nIt was the same old thing I see every day.
\nA party without a chaperone is what it was.
\nLife without a chaperone is lousy because.
\nYou have to learn things the hard way.
\nYou can misinterpret what people say.
\nLife goes on, but the road gets rougher.
\nYou grow up.——- You get tougher.
\nIt seems it would be easier with a guide.
\nSomeone who will take your hand with pride.
\nGuide you through the potholes of life.
\nAllow you to live with minimum strife.
\nWhat must such a person be?
\nSomeone who will watch out for me.
\nAn older brother or a street wise lover?
\nMaybe your father or your mother?
\nWhoever it is must be wise in their ways.
\nBe forgiving when I fail & say \u2018it\u2019s o.k.\u201d
\nIt could possibly be the Heavenly Father.
\nIt wouldn\u2019t be your son or daughter.
\nYou should be such a person to them.
\nLet them learn from where you\u2019ve been.
\nLife is not easy as we make our way.
\nNever be afraid of good advice, I say.<\/p>\n
