Health Lesson Learned Late.<\/p>\n
Across town, I had to go.
\nI wanted to see a show.
\nThe theater was over there.
\nBut, really didn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n
It was a little out of my way.
\nStill, I drove by there every day.
\nMy girl lived right near there.
\nI would always slow & stare.<\/p>\n
Stare at the theater parking lot.
\nRoach Trucks parked on that spot.
\nI tried to see if she was there.
\nShe ate there often, without a care.<\/p>\n
We had talked about the risk of that.
\nSometimes it was almost a spat.
\nI wouldn\u2019t touch any of that food.
\nI felt it was prepared pretty crude.<\/p>\n
But, that never bothered her.
\nShe felt it was safe. That\u2019s for sure.
\nLuckily, she never got sick.
\nYet, I would not even touch it.<\/p>\n
I was a health nut, to be sure.
\nSort of fussy, as it were.
\nI only ate certain things.
\nShe thought it was all beans.<\/p>\n
Beans was not what I ate.
\nI ate veggies, fruit, and steak.
\nI avoided sugar and wheat.
\nI wouldn\u2019t eat it if it was sweet.<\/p>\n
Enough of that. We went to the show.
\nShe wanted popcorn. Here we go.
\nWith butter and a soda too.
\nI said \u201cThis is not for you.\u201d<\/p>\n
So, the fight over food began again.
\nIt spoiled the movie, so I gave in.
\nI only ate nuts and drank water.
\nShe said: \u201cYou eat like an otter.\u201d<\/p>\n
I didn\u2019t disagree to prevent a fight.
\nShe said her popcorn was light.
\nI disagreed, but kept quiet.
\nI didn\u2019t want to start a riot.<\/p>\n
After the movie, we went for dinner.
\nI took her to a place I called a winner.
\nShe hardly even touched her meal.
\nIt was healthy. A real deal.<\/p>\n
Then she wanted to stop at Dunkin Donuts.
\nSaid she wanted to get some cronuts.
\nSaid that would be her dessert.
\nI said \u201cNo,\u201d for what it\u2019s worth.<\/p>\n
Time goes by, like it always does.
\nShe isn\u2019t my girl now, just because.
\nMy health is fine & I\u2019m feeling good.
\nShe is fat & not feeling like she should.<\/p>\n
While with me she didn\u2019t learn a thing.
\nAlways thought I was being mean.
\nNow, she admits I may have been right.
\nFor her to shape up will be a real fight.<\/p>\n
