Twilight Friendship<\/p>\n
I always stayed in the twilight.
\nNever trusting anyone.
\nIt seems odd, but it was my life.
\nI knew I was not the only one.<\/p>\n
Never close with anyone.
\nI saw others who were the same.
\nLife was never too much fun.
\nOthers didn\u2019t know my name.<\/p>\n
Then it happened before I knew it.
\nI saw you running from another.
\nHe yelled \u201cI\u2019ll kill you, you bitch.\u201d
\nHis voice made me shudder.<\/p>\n
I waved you to a place only I knew.
\nHe was cursing as he ran by.
\nI didn\u2019t say \u201cWhat did you do?\u201d
\nShe wouldn\u2019t want me to pry.<\/p>\n
When he didn\u2019t return you said \u201cThanks.\u201d
\n\u201cYour safe now.\u201d I said with assurance.
\n\u201cHe didn\u2019t mean it. He is just a crank.\u201d
\n\u201cHe sounded mad about some occurrence.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to steal some food from him.\u201d
\n\u201cIf you\u2019re hungry, I have some food,\u201d
\n\u201cI wouldn\u2019t intrude. It\u2019s different with him.\u201d
\n\u201cI live alone. You won\u2019t intrude.\u201d<\/p>\n
She shyly agreed to come for a bite.
\nShe said she is normally all alone.
\n\u201cI only come out at night.\u201d
\n\u201cI am also a person who is alone.\u2019<\/p>\n
She didn\u2019t say much about herself.
\nI didn\u2019t pry. It wasn\u2019t like me.
\nShe did say she seldom accepts help.
\nShe didn\u2019t trust others, as I could see.<\/p>\n
I said we were a lot alike.
\n\u201cI almost never am with anyone.\u201d
\n\u201cI am a creature of the twilight.\u201d
\n\u201cIt was because I didn\u2019t trust any one.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said \u201cWhy are you helping me?\u201d
\nI said that I couldn\u2019t answer that.
\n\u201cIt seemed right at the time, you see.\u201d
\nShe said \u201cI can relate to that.\u201d<\/p>\n
I still see her from time to time.
\nAlways at twilight, when all is dark.
\nIt was her choice as much as mine.
\nIt seems a friendship was about to start.<\/p>\n
This is new for each down to our core.
\nIt is developing at its own pace.
\nWe are trusting each other more.
\nWe may soon get our own place.<\/p>\n
I just assume it was meant to be.
\nThere is no way to explain it.
\nNow, we both feel much more free.
\nIt is well worth it to maintain it.<\/p>\n
