Blackbird singing in the dead of night.
\nWas he welcoming in the morning light?
\nI fear what\u2019s coming in the light of day.
\nI didn\u2019t mean for things to turn out this way.<\/p>\n
She might cut me loose today.
\nTell me to go my own way.
\nAll that I did was just for her.
\nBut, it didn\u2019t turn out right, for sure.<\/p>\n
I tried to make it all a surprise.
\nTo see the love shining from her eyes.
\nIt was shocking, to say the least.
\nMade me look like some kind of beast.<\/p>\n
It was supposed to be a puppet show.
\nRelaxing, for someone on the go.
\nInstead, it became a show of horrors.
\nLeft her running, screaming, for the door.<\/p>\n
Curse that puppeteer and his \u2018sick\u2019 humor.
\nI heard he was \u2018sick\u2019, but thought it a rumor.
\nHis price was fair, so, we went from there.
\nI didn\u2019t think it would be such a scare.<\/p>\n
Blackbird singing in the dark of night.
\nDon\u2019t be singing about such a fright.
\nThis could be the end of our love affair.
\nYet, you sing like you don\u2019t even care.<\/p>\n
If you ever want to surprise your girl.
\nDon\u2019t hire a \u2018sick\u2019 puppeteer to thrill.
\nFor he may scare her with his show.
\nLeaving you lost, with nowhere to go.<\/p>\n
