It\u2019s the way that it\u2019s done today.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Do they think there is no other way?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

What about how it was done <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

yesterday, when times were fun?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

That is a generation before their time.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But, that earlier generation was mine.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I feel things were better back then.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Not all the anger and need to win.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Less shootings and killing for sure.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No rioting or disruption, as it were.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Police were respected and trusted.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

There was no fear of being busted.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

People left their doors unlocked.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Home robberies were a crock.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

People felt safe to go out at night.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Any problem could be made right.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A discussion and agreement reached.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No fear of anything being breached.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Wages earned by the sweat of your back.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You were happy for it. That\u2019s a fact.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Your neighbor was your friend.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Not someone who did offend.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The \u2018Golden Rule\u2019 ruled the day.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Things were better in every way.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We should learn from our past.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Back then, things were built to last.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Life was better in every way.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Much better than the crap today.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Social skills today are in the toilet.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Smart phones are a way to spoil it.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No connection, except over a phone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No wonder people feel all alone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Oh, give me back the \u2018good old days.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Pat my back and give me praise.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Make me part of the current scene.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Nothing taken to the extreme.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
