I am glad I was around.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You were going to the dark side of town.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You said you had to help someone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I knew where you were coming from.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You would always think of others.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You would help them, despite your druthers.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It is not safe on the dark side of town.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

There are rapists and evil clowns.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Lying in an alley with feces about.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The place stunk to high heaven.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He had reached his Armageddon.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was drunk and smelled like a brewery.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Too undernourished for any Tom Foolery.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He barely had the energy to walk with help.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

This place wouldn\u2019t rate one star on Yelp.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You will want me to be around.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We hailed a cab and took him home.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Cleaned him up and said he wasn\u2019t alone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Nursed him back to health again.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Got him in A.A. where he made a friend.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He remained sober and worked the steps.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He got a job. He had no regrets.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
