One spring day we painted our home.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It took a few days to get it done.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

3 of us were working. I wasn\u2019t alone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It went fast so was sort of fun.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A pretty blue with dark blue trim.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We were all happy after the last coat.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The next day it was like it had never been.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No new paint from pillar to post.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It looked like we had never painted it.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

What the hell happened to the paint?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I was so shocked, I could have a fit.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

My wife felt weak, about to faint.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We called a ghost hunter for help.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He came over to take a look.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He knew exactly how we felt.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We showed him pictures that we took.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I looked at the ground where he knelt.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never seen anything like this before.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was as mystified as we were.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cCan I call a friend of mine? He knows lore.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe he will know what did occur.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We said yes, and soon he arrived.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We showed and told him all we\u00a0knew.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He turned white and almost cried.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I know what happened to you.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He started to say, then fell to the ground.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was dead, right on the spot.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The ambulance soon came around.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A heart attack or stroke were their thoughts.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

That didn\u2019t explain enough for us.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We saw the marks on his throat.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They disappeared before we could cuss.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Something made sure he couldn\u2019t gloat.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We never tried to paint the house again.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We sold it, as is, just as fast as we could.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Never told the story. Didn\u2019t know how to begin.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We knew the siding was wormwood.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

What this meant, we weren\u2019t sure.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We were glad to be away from there.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Why or how it did occur,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

remains a mystery we haven\u2019t wanted to share.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
