The mastery of life never comes easy.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

If it was, you would never leave me.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But, you did and my emotions died.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I felt so bad, I couldn\u2019t cry if I tried.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I remember back to the candy store.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I always saw you going in the door.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She must love candy, I thought to myself.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Yet, you\u2019re slim, the body of an elf.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, I followed you in the store.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I found out what you were there for.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You worked there. I should have known.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

By then, my fantasies. were full blown.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I came to get candy every day.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Enough so, that I heard you say:<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you a candy junkie?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cNo, or I would be a chunky monkey.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI come in just to see you.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You were shocked through and through.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cAre you kidding me?\u201d, you said.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cIf not true, I\u2019d rather be dead.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Somehow, we ended up on a date.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

For a long time things went great.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Things were to a commitment stage.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Then, we turned to the next page.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You went your way and I went mine.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t until some other time.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

You were gone for good, somehow.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I am not understanding, even now.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The mastery of life is beyond my grasp.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Like the gold ring I miss, going by too fast.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The lessons of life never come easy.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No one ever said they were easy peasy.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The parade is going by, but I\u2019m on the side.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

All I have to show is a little pride.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

In the school of hard knocks I\u2019m head of class.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I need to graduate. I don\u2019t want to be brash.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
