I felt the earth move under my feet.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I could barely stand up on the street.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Frightened and big eyed, I looked around.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Trees were swaying, buildings falling down.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I took off and ran for the grass.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The shaking knocked me on my ass. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I was sitting in the middle of a lawn.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Everything around was almost gone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I heard yelling and crying from the mess.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Someone trapped within, was my guess.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Myself, and several others were safe.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

We started helping others to escape.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

That day, I was just out for a walk.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I was thinking of heading for the dock.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Next thing I know, all is gone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I see a doe running with its fawn.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I start digging through some rubble.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I heard a female voice in trouble.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Soon, I tunneled my way into her.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A beautiful girl, alive for sure.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Her leg was wedged under a bookcase.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I lifted it up slowly, just in case.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Luckily, her leg wasn\u2019t broken.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Only bruised, a lucky token.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I said \u201cAnyone else trapped in here?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I live alone.\u201d She said in fear.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cAt least, I did live here. No more now.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I lost my home too, somehow.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cYou mean you don\u2019t know yet?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

My home was gone too, was a safe bet.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI live a few blocks from here.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI was out for a walk.\u201d \u201c I am pretty near.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThen, let\u2019s go see if your house is there.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t have to go anywhere.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI am still in shock. This house is bare.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI will help you. Is anybody there?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I live alone too.\u201d I said.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I thought maybe you were wed.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cNot yet. Haven\u2019t met the right one.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

So, off we went to see what was done.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

On the way, I learned her name.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I told her mine. Close to the same.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

My house had minimal damaged.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I told her that I could manage.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She insisted on helping me clean up.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t have a lot of stuff.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It took all day. Then, I took her to dinner.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It had to be fast food, but, it was a winner.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She had no where to stay. I had a spare room.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

WE moved her stuff there real soon.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Within the month we both knew.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She wasn\u2019t moving out. Didn\u2019t want to.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I have found who I was searching for.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

An earthquake brought her to my door.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

From the disaster came a new life.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Phoenix is what we named our first child.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

From the ashes rose new life, running wild.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Any way you look at this we win.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Enough love to carry us to the end.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
