They stepped through the portal and fell to the ground.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

At this point, there was no being around.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They had instantly became double their normal weight.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Gravity on this planet was almost too much to take.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They all got up and moved around slowly.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Even the powerful panthers were walking lowly.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The wand indicated they had a long way to go.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They could barely walk. They would go slow.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Before Anika entered the Levels Of Hell,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Her wand had a tale to tell.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Not only was she informed where portals were,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She was informed what would occur<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

If she used magic directly to destroy a critter.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The result would be very bitter.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She destroyed the kangaroo in Level 1.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But, the magic was on air surrounding that one.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Too close for comfort. It took a lot out of her.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They had to triumph by other means for sure.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She could use magic, just not directly on a beast.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The lance was different, So was its power, at least.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

That magic didn\u2019t come from Anika directly.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It had its own magic that acted effectively.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But, now, they could hardly move.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

How could they combat anything that moved?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They headed out through a wooded area.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Almost anything they heard would scare ya.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

After awhile, they heard a lot of noise.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Trees uprooted and breaking, like toys.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Then, they saw the colossal.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A giant with one eye, flaring his nostrils.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was 30 feet tall. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Moving with no problem at all.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Then, he seemed to get their scent.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Off in their direction he went.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Anika willed her wand into a lance. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She used magic to give it a chance.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She made a magical sling.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Flung the lance at the advancing thing.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It took all her power to fling it away.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She didn\u2019t know if she could do it that day.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The lance hit the colossal in the chest.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The explosion made a massive hole in its chest.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She said \u201cDeflecto\u201d just in time.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The lance returned to her by her mind.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The colossal fell with a thunderous jar.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It knocked them off their feet and afar.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They struggled up. The colossal was dead.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Pern could barely fly a short distance ahead.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

On they went, exhausted and totally spent.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Only will power carried them as they went.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They came to a steep hill going down. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t think they could manage the ground.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Then Anika had an idea to try.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She magically cut down a large tree nearby.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She cut out a length long enough to use.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She carved out the middle, like a canoe.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They all got in and down they slid.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Magic was used as their skids.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A rough ride. Magic helped to stabilize.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They went a very long way. What a ride.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Praise the Lord, they were close to the portal.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

All they could manage was a mental chortle.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They got out and had to crawl.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Too weak to stand, she wanted to bawl.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The portal was very close to them.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They couldn\u2019t move. Even on a whim.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Then, they heard them coming through the woods.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They had to get up and move, if they could.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Much too tired to defend themselves.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They saw what was coming. A herd of elves?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They looked like psychotic killers.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Armed with bows and sounding shriller.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Anika and the panthers got up and staggered.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

How? Who knows? They were beleaguered.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Anika opened the portal and they fell through.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The portal slammed closed. One arrow flew .<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They were in the safe home of old.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Maintained by magic, there was no mold.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It looked as good as new.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They laid on the floor like glue.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, they could move around fairly well.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They had made it through the 7 Levels Of Hell.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Now, the real battle would begin.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But, first, they rest as we look in.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
