The Dragon Rider was kicking back, about to snore.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was thinking of his first date the day before.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was awakened by a panicked mental alert.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

His dragon was flying in for all she was worth.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018Quick, get my big kit of medical supplies.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018We have got to hurry\u2019 tears in her eyes.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2018Wendy\u2019s dragon has been hurt. I heard his cries.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat? \u201cIs Wendy o.k.? What happened?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018It was all due to a plan to trap them.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He grabbed the medical supplies and climbed on.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

His dragon took off. In no time they were gone.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

His dragon was flying like a bat out of hell.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She just kept thinking: \u2018I hope he will be well.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

In time, they headed for a narrow canyon.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He thought: \u2018Is this where they landed then?\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018Yes, he was hurt badly, but flew \u00a0safely away.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018Is Wendy o.k.? Does she know were on the way?\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018Yes, and yes.\u2019 \u2018 I have relayed to him we are near.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018If we don\u2019t hurry, death will be near.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They zoomed down and landed safely.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Wendy came running, tearful and pasty.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They all rushed to her dragon\u2019s side.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

There was a large gash in his hide.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Gale explained that his dragon is a healer.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cLike a doctor to us\u201d, as his dragon kneeled near.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He could hear his dragon\u2019s thoughts.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Wendy could hear her dragon\u2019s thoughts. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But they couldn\u2019t hear \u00a0each others. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Gale said: \u201cI will help her, though, I have my druthers.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cShe will work through me through mind control.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have done it before, so this I know.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He worked like in a trance, over the wound.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Reaching in, sprinkling herbs, etc. Soon,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

he started suturing with a thin thread.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

There was lots of blood from where he bled.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Gradually, the wound started to close.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

A heavier suture got this done, unopposed.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, Gale came out of his trance. <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He was exhausted. He held a piece of lance.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what has caused this wound.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cYes.\u201d Wendy said. \u201cIt was thrown by a goon.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThey were near where I live.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThey ambushed us.\u201d \u00a0She was livid.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will take care of them later.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, we have to tend to your dragon\u2019s fate here.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

For two days they guarded and nursed her dragon.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Then, they slowly flew to Gale\u2019s cave, or tried then.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They had to stop often to rest.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, they made it at sunset.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be safe here.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cYou will have to stay till he is healthy, I fear.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI will be more than happy to stay.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI will help all I can, o.k.?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It took a month for the wound to totally heal.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

About then he took flight . \u2018How does it feel?\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He told Wendy he felt great.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Did an ariel summersault and a little shake.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I guess it\u2019s time for us to go.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cStay. We have a certain place to go.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is that?\u201d Wendy asked.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cTo destroy the ones who made this gash.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

He pointed to the scar on her dragon.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cYour dragon is no longer lagging.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

They made plans over the next few days.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

But, that\u2019s another story to display.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
