A simple time, a simple place.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It brought a smile to my face.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Thinking back when I was a kid.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pressures now will flip your lid.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Back then, things were better.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

No computers. We wrote letters.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I can remember my first kiss.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, what made me think of this?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Probably what I saw on T.V.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was quite vulgar, you see.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Not a simple childhood kiss.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

For that, I am not remiss.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no way to go back.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Or, I’d be there. It’s a fact.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I didn’t know what I had back then.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I do now.—– Let me begin.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I wouldn’t trade those times for the world.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The memories are great. They have held.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nothing like being able to reminisce.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Thinking back on doing the twist.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Watching American Bandstand on T.V. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Listening to the old songs. You and me.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We always knew Father Knows Best.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

My Little Margie knew the rest.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hi Yo Silver was the weekend cry.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Along with The Cisco Kid and I.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Cartoons were funny, not gory.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Servicemen got all our glory.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We were kids just having fun.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

None of us had to carry a gun. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Violence was for boxing.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And Texas Wrestling. Not mocking.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Just saying things were better then.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I think it’s time we make amends.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
