What is that sound??<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A low pitched rumble in the ground.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It can go on for hours.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then it stops. I was ready to holler.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In a day, or a week, or so, it starts again.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

When in the hell did all this begin?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We have to search. Find the source.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Search day and night. Grab a torch.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is heard for miles around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s even heard way out of town.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We have to get to the bottom of this.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This noise is breaking my sanity to bits.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It could be coming from underground.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But, there’s no entrance I have found.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There is one place we haven’t looked. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the old abandoned mine by the brook.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let’s go there and check it out.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We’ll go by the shortest route.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There it is, right up ahead.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

That sound is louder in my head.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Slowly, we creped into the abandoned mine.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I was sure we were in the right place this time.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Light was coming from just up ahead.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

What we saw made my feet feel like lead.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

An ogre was sitting at a spinning wheel.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The spinning wheel was making the squeal.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He was spinning straw into gold.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Throwing away any straw with mold.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He had piles of gold stacked all around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The noisy rumble was felt deep in the ground.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We took off running like bats out of hell.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We had to find someone to tell.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, we realized no one would believe.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was just a story we conceived.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We kept it all to ourselves.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Maybe, if we were elves,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

w<\/i><\/b>e could sneak back and steal some gold.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

That would be wrong, I’ve been told.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

An ogre and his gold is best left alone.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Just suffer the noise, though it makes you moan.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
