\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Secret Agent Man<\/strong><\/p>\n

I walked through the crowd trying to blend in.<\/p>\n

My eyes moved constantly checking where I\u2019ve been.<\/p>\n

Was anyone following or watching too closely?<\/p>\n

Just weekend shoppers with kids mostly.<\/p>\n

A trained eye can spot a gunman easily.<\/p>\n

Most aren\u2019t careful enough. They are moving to seize me.<\/p>\n

They only have a general description to follow.<\/p>\n

I can appear like anyone. The disguise is hollow.<\/p>\n

If stopped & questioned they may see through it.<\/p>\n

I have got to pad my edge a bit.<\/p>\n

They are looking for a single person.<\/p>\n

I must join with another. Curse them.<\/p>\n

I go into a busy bar and spot a girl alone.<\/p>\n

I buy her a drink & make myself at home.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, she seems interested in me.<\/p>\n

The conversation is proceeding nicely.<\/p>\n

One of the goons came in & made the rounds.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t give me a second look, I found.<\/p>\n

After awhile, to the girls dismay.<\/p>\n

I excuse myself & head on my way.<\/p>\n

The coast seems clear. I am barely able to catch a train.<\/p>\n

I have made good my escape without giving my name.<\/p>\n

A secret agent man is always under pressure.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t always look suave and be a slick dresser.<\/p>\n

People have died by my hand.<\/p>\n

All done in the name of my land.<\/p>\n

I never kill if it can be avoided.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, the situation says destroy it.<\/p>\n

Mostly, it\u2019s obtaining information of one type or another.<\/p>\n

Information I wouldn\u2019t even tell my mother.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a matter of national security.<\/p>\n

It must be stopped to maintain purity.<\/p>\n

Maintain our democratic basic freedom.<\/p>\n

Yet, someone has to be the one to seize them.<\/p>\n

There is no attachments in this job.<\/p>\n

It could mean their life. I\u2019m not talking odd.<\/p>\n

They will be used as a tool to get me to talk.<\/p>\n

So I must talk the talk and walk the walk.<\/p>\n

Many a girl I would love to be with forever.<\/p>\n

The chances of that is next to never.<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t trust anyone but yourself.<\/p>\n

Now that\u2019s really hitting below the belt.<\/p>\n

Another day, another secret revealed.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how it is when you\u2019re out in the field.<\/p>\n

Someday,——- if I survive.<\/p>\n

I will quit while still alive.<\/p>\n

Then I\u2019ll retire to a small corner of the world.<\/p>\n

With my love and we will be dead to the world.<\/p>\n

We will live out our lives in peace unsurpassed.<\/p>\n

Provided I can leave behind for good my past.<\/p>\n
