Dorothy\u2019s Day Dream<\/p>\n
\u201cAre you staying in?\u201d
\nThe scarecrow said with a grin.
\n\u201cI\u2019ll be right out\u201d he heard her shout.
\n\u201cJust trying to figure this out.\u201d
\n\u201cTin man and lion are here.\u201d
\n\u201cI am coming, have no fear.\u201d
\n\u201cHere I am. Where are we going?\u201d
\n\u201cWe thought we\u2019d do a little strolling.\u201d
\n\u201cHeading down the yellow brick road.\u201d
\n\u201cToward the Emerald City, we\u2019ve been told.\u201d
\n\u201cWe might get to see The Wizard Of Oz.\u201d
\n\u201cWe have purpose. We have a cause.\u201d
\n\u201cAnd just what might that be?\u201d
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve told you before. Can\u2019t you see?\u201d
\n\u201cYou guys are losers. You won\u2019t get a thing.\u201d
\n\u201cAll you do is make a scene.\u201d
\n\u201cWe see already you need an attitude.\u201d
\n\u201cOr, have yours adjusted, if in the mood.\u201d
\n\u201cWe just want to be more human, you see.\u201d
\n\u201cBut, not with your attitude. Not for me.\u201d
\n\u201cO.k., o.k. I\u2019ll work on that.\u201d
\n\u201cI just want to go home. That\u2019s a fact.\u201d
\nSo, they skipped on down the road.
\nBefore long, they saw a toad.
\n\u201cGood morning there Mr toad.\u201d
\n\u201cWhat\u2019s good about it?\u201d He spit on the road.
\n\u201cWell, you are alive and well.\u201d
\n\u201cI need a kiss to break this spell.\u201d
\n\u201cI need a princes to kiss me.\u201d
\n\u201cThen, I will become a handsome prince, you see.\u201d
\n\u201cCould you give this toad a kiss Dorothy.\u201d
\n\u201cWhat?? No!! I might become warty.\u201d
\n\u201cYou need work done on that attitude.\u201d
\n\u201cThanks, I can do without your platitudes.\u201d
\n\u201cGo ask the wizard for help Mr toad.\u201d
\n\u201cThat\u2019s what caused this I\u2019ve been told.\u201d
\n\u201cNot The Wizard, magic. A witches curse.\u201d
\n\u201cIt was after I told her what she\u2019s worth.\u201d
\n\u201cShe wanted me to be hers, the story goes.\u201d
\n\u201cI told her I\u2019d rather kiss a toad.\u201d
\n\u201cSo, she put this curse on me.\u201d
\n\u201cShe thought it was real funny.\u201d
\n\u201cO.k., o.k.\u201d Dorothy gave the toad a kiss.
\nNext she knew, she was in Kansas and his.
\nThey were in the hay in the barn.
\nToto was barking, protecting her from harm.
\nTin man, lion. And scarecrow were there too.
\nLooking around, wondering what to do.
\nThen they heard a holler from the house.
\nDorothy\u2019s mom came to the barn house.
\nDorothy\u2019s mom woke Dorothy up.
\n\u201cYou sleeping in the hay again?\u201d
\n\u201cCome to the house. Supper\u2019s about to begin.\u201d
\nDorothy looked around. They were alone.
\nIt was a dream. Enough to make her groan.
\nShe touched her lips. They felt all tingly.
\nWhat did that dream do to me?
\nShe shook her head and went to the house.
\nAll during dinner, she was quiet as a mouse.
\nIf nothing else, her attitude was better.
\nAfter that day, she was a real go getter.<\/p>\n
