A Bizarre Day<\/p>\n
Playing with my dog on a sunny day.
\nChasing what I threw as we went on our way.
\nBefore long, we were in the woods.
\nHe ran around investigating, like he should.
\nBefore long, he brought back a backpack.
\nNow why in the world did he do that?
\nI told him to show me. He led the way.
\nThis was becoming an interesting day.
\nIn the bushes, something was hidden.
\nIt was a dead body looking forbidden.
\nA male of high school age, it seemed.
\nI could see no injury. He was clean.
\nYet someone must have hidden him there.
\nI got the feeling I should beware.
\nI quickly called the police on my phone.
\nThen, we waited there all alone.
\nBefore long, a couple policemen arrived.
\nThey checked the kid to see if he was alive.
\nHe wasn\u2019t, so they taped off the area.
\nHe said: \u201cSorry, I didn\u2019t mean to scare ya.\u201d
\n\u201cAm I a suspect? My dog found the body.\u201d
\n\u201cNo\u201d, he said, then smiled kind of oddly.
\n\u201cWhat killed him? Do you know?\u201d
\n\u201cThat would be the corner\u2019s show.\u201d
\n\u201cWe\u2019ll call forensics and the corner.\u201d
\n\u201cOnce they are done, we might know for sure.\u201d
\nThey questioned me for a little while.
\nTook my address and said with a smile.
\n\u201cYou can go. Well call if we need you.\u201d
\nI heard later that the body disappeared.
\nNow, let me tell you, that was weird.
\nHe vanished while the cops were looking at him.
\nIt was just like he had never been.
\nTwilight Zone type of stuff for sure.
\nSo much for my walk with my cur.<\/p>\n
