The Beginning Of Commerce<\/p>\n
Two cavemen were shuffling along.
\nOne was bigger and he was strong.
\nThe smaller one was the smarter.
\nBut, being small made things harder.
\nA huge beast was heading their way.
\nThere was no time to get away.
\nThe smaller one grabbed a stick.
\nA long, heavy one would do the trick.
\nHe grunted for the other to help.
\nThey leveraged a rock, big enough he felt.
\nThe bolder rolled down the hill.
\nIt hit the beast and they had a kill.
\nThe bigger one grunted and patted his back.
\nThe smaller one indicated the sacks.
\nThey cut the beast into chunks.
\nThey put the meat in the sacks in lumps.
\nThe big one grabbed two sacks with ease.
\nThe smaller could only manage one with a heave.
\nThey made it back to their cave.
\nMeat for dinner, they did crave.
\nThe big one pointed, shoulders sore.
\nThe little one was tired to the core.
\nThen, the little one sat blinking.
\nThat usually meant he was thinking.
\nSoon he drew a picture on the wall.
\nA way to make it easier to haul.
\nHe drew a crude wheel barrow.
\nDrew it rolling down the straight and narrow.
\nHe drew the big one lifting one end.
\nMoving a big load for his friend.
\nThen, the big one understood.
\nThen, they built it, like they should.
\nOnce done, they moved a load of rocks.
\nIt was much easier than toting blocks.
\nBeasts were killed and brought home with ease.
\nOther cavemen could hardly believe.
\nSoon, they were building them for others.
\nOthers gave them meat for their druthers.
\nThey did not have to hunt anymore.
\nMeat and veggies were brought right to their door.
\nSo began the American way.
\nAnd it is still being done today.<\/p>\n
