Years flew by as the two of them worked.
\nSearching every book & scroll, a quirk.
\nOne day Asglow looked in a mirror.
\nHe was shocked at how he appeared.
\n\u201cI have aged, but you have not.\u201d
\nHe was glued to the spot.
\n\u201cI solved that over 900 years ago.\u201d
\n\u201cA spell keeps me young. It is so.\u201d
\n\u201cCould you work that spell on me?\u201d
\n\u201cCertainly, it slipped my mind, you see.\u201d
\nKronos did what he needed to do.
\nAsglow looked & felt younger too.
\nHe said \u201cThanks, I needed that.\u201d
\n\u201cI believe you did. It\u2019s a fact.\u201d
\nA month, or so later Asglow said.
\n\u201cI just remembered. It came to my head.\u201d
\n\u201cWay back, when I built the castle.\u201d
\n\u201cI hid books away to avoid a hassle.\u201d
\n\u201cIt was a huge amount of books from Vantera.\u201d
\n\u201cNow, I know that might sound a little queer, ah\u201d
\n\u201cThey didn\u2019t know I took them back then.\u201d
\n\u201cBoth black & white magic\u201d he grinned.
\n\u201cWhite magic?—- I hate that crap!!\u201d
\n\u201cI know, but don\u2019t lose your hat.\u201d
\n\u201cI was trained in both, as you know.\u201d
\n\u201cI found with a balance, you increase the show.\u201d
\n\u201cWhat exactly are you saying here?\u201d
\n\u201cThis may be the answer. Have no fear.\u201d
\n\u201cThis may be why the demons need us.\u201d
\n\u201cA demon can\u2019t touch white magic, I trust.\u201d
\n\u201cYet, the balance is needed for phase !! to work.\u201d
\n\u201cNow, that really is quite a quirk.\u201d
\n\u201cI don\u2019t trust white magic. Never have.\u201d
\n\u201cIt could be like a healing salve.\u201d
\n\u201cWhat the hell are you saying?\u201d
\n\u201cLet me show you. I\u2019m just saying.\u201d
\nAsglow took Kronos deep below.
\nWay into the bedrock. There was a glow.
\nA spell to prevent rot in the room.
\nThere were hundreds of books in the gloom.
\nAsglow lit a globe with magic.
\nThe books were separated by their magic.
\nAsglow said \u201cWatch this.\u201d
\nUsing black magic he melted rock with a hiss.
\nThen, he combined a \u2018white spell\u2019 with it.
\nThe rock evaporated. Nothing left of it.
\nKronos was amazed. \u201cWhat the hell??\u201d
\n\u201cIt was a balanced spell.\u201d
\n\u201cIt became twice as effective that way.\u201d
\n\u201cIt takes special skill though, I must say.\u201d
\n\u201cHow did you come up with such a thing?\u201d
\n\u201cQuite by accident, it would now seem.\u201d
\n\u201cOnce I saw what it had done.\u201d
\n\u201cI perfected my method. I was the only one.\u201d
\n\u201cI am starting to see how this could help.\u201d
\n\u201cWe\u2019ll complete phase II for that demon whelp.\u201d
\n\u201cAnd we will do it in record time.\u201d
\n\u201cIt won\u2019t take centuries of our time.\u201d
\n\u201cWe could make a breakthrough in a few years.\u201d
\n\u201cI wonder if that would bring a demon to tears.\u201d
\n\u201cHell no. They are a bunch of ornery cusses.\u201d
\n\u201cAll he does is give orders and fusses.\u201d
\nSo, Kronos and Asglow went to work again.
\nKronos thought white magic was almost a sin.
\nBut, if it got them where they wanted to go.
\nThen, he was all ready to work on the show.
\nWhere it took them, I still haven\u2019t heard.
\nI will pass it on when I get the word.<\/p>\n
