They were working almost every night & day.
\nSomething big was coming their way.
\nA few years later, they were almost done.
\nThey had no idea it would be such fun.
\nEspecially for Kronos, who was new to white magic.
\nWithout Asglow\u2019s guidance, it would have been tragic.
\nFinally the big day arrived.
\nThey wanted to try out all they strived.
\nThen, they remembered what the demon had said.
\nJust the thought of it gave them dread.
\nLike being paged, a demon popped in.
\n\u201cWhy aren\u2019t you two working? voicing his whim.
\n\u201cBecause we are done with phase II\u201d
\n\u201cWhat? Is this the truth coming from you?\u201d
\n\u201cIt is. Here, check it out for yourself.\u201d
\nThey gave him a scroll. He scanned the wealth.
\n\u201cI can\u2019t believe you finished so quickly\u201d
\n\u201cWe are quite efficient, though some of it was iffy.\u201d
\n\u201cdo we have the o.k. to test it?\u201d
\n\u201cNO!! Definitely not. It would be too dangerous.\u201d
\n\u201cYou can now proceed on to phase III\u201d
\n\u201cWHAT?? Are you puling our leg?\u201d
\n\u201cDemons have no humor. We only make you beg.\u201d
\n\u201cBut, but—How can there be a phase III?\u201d
\n\u201cWell, let me explain it to thee.\u201d
\nThe demon explained what was expected next.
\n\u201cWe thought the first two phases were nuts.\u201d
\n\u201cNow you may have blown our trust.\u201d
\n\u201cThis could totally destroy all of creation.\u201d
\nThe demon said \u201cPoint made and taken.\u201d
\n\u201cThis could take a millennium or more.\u201d
\n\u201cAre you suicidal? When done, you will be no more.\u201d
\n\u201cThat is what phase IV is for.\u201d
\n\u201cPhase IV?? What the hell are you demons planning?\u201d
\n\u201cA need to know basis. Stop being demanding.\u201d
\n\u201cWhat do we finally get out of all this?\u201d
\n\u201cPossibly the right to live. The Dark Lord will decide this.\u201d
\n\u201cGet to work. That is an order.\u201d
\nWith that, the demon was no more.
\n\u201cWhat the hell are we doing here?\u201d Asglow said.
\n\u201cIt seems, with demons, we are in bed.\u201d
\n\u201cYes, we are, but to what end?\u201d
\n\u201cTo find out, I don\u2019t want to wait till then.\u201d
\n\u201cDo demons have that powerful of enemies?\u201d
\n\u201cOnly God & the heavenly angels. They are many.\u201d
\n\u201cYou don\u2019t think they are planning war on them, do you?\u201d
\n\u201cI don\u2019t think even demons would be such a fool.\u201d
\n\u201cPhase I could ignite the very magical flux.\u201d
\n\u201cPhase II would double that power, or as much.\u201d
\n\u201cAdd phase III & the entire universe is in danger.\u201d
\n\u201cThere was phase IV mentioned. It would be stranger.\u201d
\n\u201cI am starting to get worried. How about you?\u201d
\n\u201cYes, this is not something to look forward to.\u201d
\nWe will leave them in this mental stew.
