When I first saw you, I was thunder struck.
\nYou were driving by in a flat bed truck.
\nSun burst blonde hair falling free.
\nThe prettiest sight I could ever see.
\nYou pulled into a restaurant parking lot.
\nYou got out and you were looking hot.
\nI pulled in and parked there too.
\nNo, I wasn\u2019t really following you.
\nI was only going in for a bite to eat.
\nIt seemed my heart was following my feet.
\nWhen I got in, you were at the counter.
\nI sat next to you. My heart did flounder.
\nYou said \u201cGood morning.\u201d I almost passed out.
\nI stammered a reply, trying not to shout.
\nYou had eyes so blue I almost drowned.
\nHow did I live without you around.
\nWe started talking, one to another.
\nYou said you were looking for your brother.
\nYou both were adopted by others when young.
\nYou traced him to here, Licking your lips with your tongue.
\nYou said \u201cMaybe you might know him?\u201d
\nYou told me his name.—- I was frozen.
\nYou had said my name. I fell through the floor.
\nHow can this be? It cut to my core.
\n\u201cThat, that is my name. Are you sure?\u201d
\nI just sat and stared at her.
\nShe did have my color hair and eyes.
\nShe smiled like me.—- No surprise.
\nShe said \u201cHoly cow!! Can it really be you?\u201d
\nI sheepishly said \u201cYour mama was no fool.\u201d
\nIn a matter of seconds, there was a change.
\nMy \u2018high hopes\u2019 suddenly shared my last name.
\nDon\u2019t get me wrong. I love her dearly now.
\nBut, I still wish it had worked out somehow.<\/p>\n
