I opened the door, feeling modest,<\/p>\n

to a beautiful woman in a red dress.<\/p>\n

Tall, blonde, a Nordic goddess.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t talk, I must confess.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She was there to see my sister.<\/p>\n

I had not seen her in years.<\/p>\n

An old friend, she called me \u2018Mister\u2019.<\/p>\n

She didn\u2019t recognize me either, I fear.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Finally I stammered out some words.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, I\u2019m Amy\u2019s brother\u201d<\/p>\n

She looked at me like she hadn\u2019t heard.<\/p>\n

Then she realized I was not some other.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t seen you in years.\u201d I said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve really changed \u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cI pictured you different in my head.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said \u201cI still feel the same.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cHow were you expecting me to look?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLike that girl in pigtails with a snotty nose?\u201d<\/p>\n

I turned red as back & forth my head shook.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just that————Well,— you know.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cJust that what?—-I\u2019d like to know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a living walking dream\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re much more lovely now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re the best I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2018Well,—-Thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou look pretty darn good yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

My sister came & they were off to lunch.<\/p>\n

I sat down all by myself.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I never expected her to look like that.<\/p>\n

What a radical change it was.<\/p>\n

I remember we would fight & spat.<\/p>\n

Now, all I can say is, I\u2019m glad she\u2019s not my cuz.<\/p>\n
