Remember those days when you were young?<\/p>\n

Remember \u2018cruise night\u2019 was so much fun.<\/p>\n

Every Friday night we drove to the city.<\/p>\n

Cruising up & down the streets looking pretty.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerican Graffiti\u201d before it was a movie.<\/p>\n

Driving around feeling really groovy.<\/p>\n

I thought I would try it the other day.<\/p>\n

Things had changed in a major way.<\/p>\n

Streets were heavily patrolled by cops.<\/p>\n

They were making many stops.<\/p>\n

At one stop, as I looked around.<\/p>\n

I got egged by a bunch of clowns.<\/p>\n

There were nasty people with road rage.<\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t care about your age.<\/p>\n

They would run you off the road.<\/p>\n

Smash you flat, like you were a toad.<\/p>\n

Things are NOT what they used to be.<\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t this the land of the free?<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t seem so anymore.<\/p>\n

Everyone is out to make a score.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t \u2018cruise\u2019 if you value your life.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t want to be on gangland turf at night.<\/p>\n

It is best to just stay at home & mope.<\/p>\n

The closest to \u2018cruising\u2019 is with the remote.<\/p>\n

Watch the news for the latest tussle<\/p>\n

between all \u00a0the gangland muscle.<\/p>\n

They fight where \u2018cruising\u2019 used to be.<\/p>\n

All of that is just too much for me.<\/p>\n

Cruise night is gone, along with the pleasures it brought.<\/p>\n

Just another memory that time forgot.<\/p>\n
