I was eating Chinese food while out the other day.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food is very good here, by the way.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A restaurant in a semi mall, a shopping center.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

People were shopping, getting ready for winter.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several people were having lunch there too.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they left no one came in. Why? I haven\u2019t a clue.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon, I was the last customer there.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I looked out. There were no people anywhere.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were cars in the parking lot.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This seems rather strange, I thought.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I finished up and asked the waiter;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere is everyone?\u201d He shrugged. \u201cSee you later.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got up to go, but stopped at the door.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A person just left a nearby store.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he stepped off the curb he disappeared.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mean he just vanished. It was real weird.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I went back into the restaurant then.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said: \u201cDid you see what happened just then?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The waiter said :\u201dYes.\u201d His eyes were big.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a good thing he wasn\u2019t wearing a wig.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat the hell just happened?\u201d I asked.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know\u201d \u201cNot sure I should ask.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was scared and so was I.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other employees were informed. What a surprise.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were almost petrified with fear.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said \u201cWe need to get out of here.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, we don\u2019t know what is going on.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you think it\u2019s an apocalypse? Day Of The Dawn?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow do you really think that is what is going on?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAn alien invasion then. Or, mass hallucinations.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll say this. You\u2019re making quite a creation.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is no explanation that will do right now.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut, we have to find the answer somehow.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just then a customer walked in & said \u201cHello.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s going on out there? Do you know?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat are you talking about?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told him & he said \u201cYou don\u2019t have to shout.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think you all should go back to bed.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEither that, or you are all out of your head.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With that he went out the door.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We watched him, our faces a horror.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stepped off the curb & walked to his car.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He drove away leaving us all with a mental scar.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things were back to normal again.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No one mentioned a thing about \u2018then\u2019.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It never occurred again, as far as we know.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, the waiters get nervous when business is slow.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
