Frozen Death<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something \u2018bad\u2019 in the land down under.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No, not Australia—-what a blunder.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mean Antarctica, the frozen land.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something found buried in the sand.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under many tons of ice and snow.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A deep boring drill brought it in tow.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was frozen in a core sample.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ancient virus buried in the mantle.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first they didn\u2019t realize what it was.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Till a sled dog keeled over covered in fuzz.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quickly, the  other dogs dropped dead.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Defensive measures saved their heads.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They knew it had to be a core sample.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drilling so deep, the cores were ample.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All were quickly isolated & taken back.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put in isolation. It was a fact.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each sample was put under the electron <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

microscope to see what\u2019s going on?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The virus was quickly seen.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the deepest sample taken at the scene.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bore hole had been tightly sealed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything was cleaned off the field.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did it only affect dogs and how?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was the question. How about humans now?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a few weeks they found.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When warmed up, it could get around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel in the air then breathed in.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It would work as rapidly as a Mickey Finn.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They knew it was one of the deadliest around.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will dread the day it was found.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day a lab worker dropped a test tube.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All were dead in minutes. It was pretty crude.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside isolation, all were scared out of their wits.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will we do about all this?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then someone said freeze the room solid.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep it that way, if they allow it.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What about the bodies in there?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contaminated. Not going anywhere.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, it still remains like this to this day.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It just can\u2019t be any other way.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are we safe from this deadly virus?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If things warm up it will retire us.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
