\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More Than It Seemed<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

My life was making the rounds<\/p>\n

of the honky tonks And bars.<\/p>\n

There was no where I was bound.<\/p>\n

Each place left many scars.<\/p>\n

Some for all to see.<\/p>\n

Others on the heart.<\/p>\n

There was nothing there for me.<\/p>\n

My life was literally falling apart.<\/p>\n

Then I met a living walking dream.<\/p>\n

My life took a different turn.<\/p>\n

Not in the honky tonks, it seems.<\/p>\n

But, in a in a library with book worms.<\/p>\n

We whispered back & forth.<\/p>\n

Then, I asked her out for coffee.<\/p>\n

She said yes, was her retort.<\/p>\n

It was odd. I felt so sloppy.<\/p>\n

We had coffee & talked.<\/p>\n

Her life was as lonely as mine.<\/p>\n

I was so glad she hadn\u2019t balked.<\/p>\n

When I told her I had a good time.<\/p>\n

I asked to see her again.<\/p>\n

To my surprise she agreed.<\/p>\n

Something good was about to begin.<\/p>\n

Was I ever lucky to plant this seed.<\/p>\n

With her looks, I didn\u2019t see<\/p>\n

how she could ever be lonely.<\/p>\n

But, it seems she was just like me.<\/p>\n

Except that she wasn\u2019t homely.<\/p>\n

Time passes like it always does.<\/p>\n

We kept dating once a week or more.<\/p>\n

No honky tonks or bars because<\/p>\n

I wanted her to see so much more.<\/p>\n

She was a teacher in grade school.<\/p>\n

I was a carpenter full time.<\/p>\n

She was interested in what I do.<\/p>\n

I was only thinking I wish she was mine.<\/p>\n

We had many interests in common.<\/p>\n

There was so much to share with her.<\/p>\n

she introduced me to her mama & kin.<\/p>\n

Where my family was, I wasn\u2019t sure.<\/p>\n

One day, listening to the radio.<\/p>\n

We heard a religious show.<\/p>\n

We both said maybe we should go.<\/p>\n

There was so much we didn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

To make a long story shorter now.<\/p>\n

We ended up being baptized there.<\/p>\n

Then we exchanged wedding vows.<\/p>\n

We became members. Now God we share.<\/p>\n

Our life has become a threesome.<\/p>\n

We may become four before too long.<\/p>\n

For now it\u2019s her & I & God is the third one.<\/p>\n

Life has become a happy song.<\/p>\n

Funny how life changed from honky tonks & bars.<\/p>\n

To paradise every day of my life.<\/p>\n

No longer does loneliness scar.<\/p>\n
